DSI2017 - Workshop on Digital Technology to Support Social Innovation

Theme: “Engaging broad participation in social innovation with the support of digital technologies”

The advent of the Web 2.0 enabled the growth of user-generated content, virtual communities and new forms of collaboration over the internet. Since then, multiple platforms, such as the CAPS platforms, have emerged tapping into collective knowledge for fostering awareness, collaboration and innovation.
The DSI 2107 workshop aims at collecting the lessons learned from different platforms and settings, and understanding the requirements and challenges for building and using digital platforms to effectively engage broad participation in the social innovation process. The workshop offers a forum to reflect on the result of experiments, pilots and tests of such platforms in order to pave the way forward for digital social innovation in the Next Generation Internet. Our expected output is a concrete set of findings, important research questions and digital social innovation opportunities.

The workshop will be structured in two sessions, where:

The first session will be dedicated to the presentation of scientific contributions related to the workshop topics;
The second session will consist on a brainstorming activity and round-table discussion about the future of Digital Social Innovation platforms using as starting points the findings of the different submitted articles
We wellcome researchers, companies and policy makers to submit theirs articles or simply join us for the round-table discussion about the future of Digital Social Innovation.
