📢 Call for Papers & Demos — Join our full-day workshop at Humanoids 2026
From Capability to Assurance: Trustworthy Humanoid Systems in Human Environments As humanoids move from controlled demonstrations toward real-world operation in human environments, a key challenge is no longer simply making robots more capable, but making those capabilities robust, reliable, understandable, and safe in the physical world. How can humanoids perceive, reason, plan, learn, act, interact, and recover reliably under uncertainty, distribution shift, and unexpected situations? And more fundamentally: What evidence is sufficient to trust a learning-enabled humanoid operating physically around people? We invite both paper and demo contributions across a broad range of topics related to humanoid intelligence, autonomy, safety, evaluation, and real-world deployment, including but not limited to: • Embodied AI, Physical AI, and autonomous humanoid systems • Vision-Language-Action (VLA), Vision-Language Models (VLM), and foundation models for robotics • Perception, scene understanding, and uncertainty estimation • Navigation, locomotion, manipulation, and mobile manipulation • Whole-body planning and control • Task planning, reasoning, and embodied agents • Learning-based methods and reinforcement learning for humanoids • Human–humanoid interaction and operation in shared human environments • Robustness to distribution shifts and unexpected situations • Sim-to-real / real-to-sim transfer and generalization • Failure detection, recovery, fallback behaviors, and runtime supervision • Safety-aware planning and control • Verification, validation, and assurance of learning-enabled systems • Benchmarks, datasets, metrics, and evaluation methodologies • Failure analysis, negative results, and lessons from real-world robot experiments • System integration and end-to-end humanoid architectures • Responsible deployment, standards, and real-world operational considerations We especially encourage contributions that connect robot capability with reliability and assurance, from individual algorithms to complete humanoid systems. 📄 Call for Papers • Short / Position Papers: up to 4 pages • Research Papers: up to 6 pages • Submission deadline: October 25, 2026, 23:59 AoE 🤖 Call for Demos We also welcome demonstrations showcasing humanoid technologies in simulation, portable setups, or physical robots. Demos may present new capabilities, system integrations, safety mechanisms, human–robot interaction, failure detection and recovery, evaluation methods, or other emerging ideas related to trustworthy humanoid systems. Demo submission dates will be announced soon. 📅 Workshop date: December 7, 2026 📍 Santa Clara, California This workshop is held as part of the 2026 IEEE-RAS 25th International Conference on Humanoid Robots (Humanoids 2026). Whether you have mature research, preliminary results, a position or emerging idea, a benchmark, a system study, or a working demo, we encourage you to contribute and join the discussion. 🔗 Workshop details, paper submissions, and demo information: https://humanoid-safety-assurance.paiagent.ai/humanoids2026/#call-for-papers Please feel free to share this call with colleagues and researchers who may be interested! #Humanoids2026 #HumanoidRobotics #EmbodiedAI #PhysicalAI #RobotLearning #VLA #VLM #FoundationModels #RobotSafety #Robotics #HumanRobotInteraction #TrustworthyAI #CallForPapers #CallForDemos |
