Call For Papers

Swarmfest is the annual meeting of the Swarm Development Group (SDG), the creators and developers of the Swarm Simulation System. It is the longest running agent-based modeling (ABM) conference. Although the conference dates back to the early days of the Swarm ABM package, attendees today use a wide range of software including AnyLogic, Mason, NetLogo, Repast, swarm, and more.

Swarmfest brings together ABM experts and enthusiasts from a wide variety of academic and industrial disciplines who are able to communicate through the common language of ABM. Swarmfest fosters a collegial space for researchers to explore new ideas and approaches, and benefit from a multi-disciplinary environment. We encourage dialogue about ABM use within our own research communities, and often discuss strategies for cross-domain applications or extensions. Swarmfest is also a venue to identify future avenues for ABM research, including the “next” generation of ABM tools, platforms and applications.

This year, we are accepting papers for three different tracks. New to the conference this year, peer-reviewed full papers accepted to the conference will be invited to publish in a special volume by Springer. The tracks are:

Full peer-reviewed paper track (10-page maximum) – Due June 9, 2017
Works-in-progress track (1-2 page abstract) – Due July 7, 2017
Student poster track (1-2 page abstract) – Due July 7, 2017
