The Internet of Things (IoT) provides expectations that smart distributed applications and services that discover their context and build collaborations with other smart services to create new add value. In particular, the massive adoption of mobile and smart devices, and the evolution of IoT, raises more and more attention to generate additional information in terms of smart context-aware service discovery and adaptation. Their growing use and evolution call new challenges and practical research problems, especially on partially or fully distributed applications and services. The goal of the IoT/SUW 2017 workshop/special session is to serve as a forum for researchers or professionals from both academia and industry to exchange new ideas, discuss new solutions, and share their experiences in the design, implementation, analysis, experiment or measurement related to semantic interoperability in the context of Internet of Things at a run-time level, and distributed smart mobile applications.
