Welcome to the 5th Asian Symposium on Human Rights Education, which is being held Saturday and Sunday, August 4-5, 2018 at the Mitsui Garden Hotel in Hiroshima, Japan. This is an international, peer-reviewed event that is being held in partnership with the 2nd Asian Conference on Peace, Humanitarian Aid and Service (PHASE 2018) and the 3rd Conference on Sustainable Business, Energy and Development in Asia (COSDA 2018).
SHARE 2018 will precede the 73rd Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Remembrance Ceremony. All attending, registered participants will be invited to a free, guided tour of Peace Park and an optional ticketed tour to the shrine island of Miyajima – both are UNESCO World Heritage sites. About SHARE 2018 Now, more than ever, Human Rights is at the center of discussion and debate from small rural communities in Southeast Asia to the re-opening of relations between the US and Cuba. The human rights landscape today, with its ever-changing peaks and valleys, has made some noteworthy advances in promoting greater access to human rights on a global scale; however, they cannot overshadow the existing violations against humanity that are aggravated through the discrimination and marginalization of peoples. With the theme Building Equitable and Inclusive Communities, SHARE 2018 aims to promote a greater understanding and access to human rights through peaceful and respectful discussion of the issues. This event is an interdisciplinary platform for academics, researchers, policy makers, human rights advocates, students and professionals. We welcome submissions of 250 words in English by Friday, June 8, 2018. ◾Culture and Diversity ◾Diaspora, Migration & Identity ◾Education for Sustainable Development ◾Environmental Rights ◾Gender Studies ◾Human Rights Education ◾Language and Linguistic Rights ◾Peace, Violence and Conflict Resolution ◾Religious Freedom ◾Other Areas (please specify) |
