The Third International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics (Agro-Geoinformatics 2014) will be held in Beijing, China, on August 11-14, 2014. This conference is sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture through a grant from its Science and Education Competitive Grants Program and by other agriculture-related organizations. The Center for Spatial Information Science and Systems (CSISS) of George Mason University and the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning (IARRP) of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science (CAAS) are co-organizing the conference and IARRP will host the conference at the CAAS conference facility in Beijing, China.
Agro-geoinformation is critical for the agricultural sustainability, food security, environmental research, bioenergy, natural resource conservation, land use management, carbon accounting, global climate change, health research, agricultural industry, commodity trading, economy research, education, agricultural decision making and policy formulation, etc. The Agro-Geoinformatics 2012 and Agro-Geoinformatics 2013 conferences were successfully held in Shanghai, China and Washington DC, USA, respectively. The Agro-Geoinformatics conferences have provided and will continue to provide an ideal venue for professionals and students to exchange their ideas, research results, professional experiences, the latest developments and future vision of Agro-geoinformatics. The Agro-Geoinformatics 2014 conference will continue covering the recent advances in the life cycle of Agro-geoinformatics, from data collection (including field surveys and remote sensing), processing, storing, archiving, preservation, retrieving, transmitting, accessing, visualization, analyzing, synthesizing, presenting, disseminating to decision making. The conference will include plenary, oral, and poster sessions. The topics of the conference are listed http://agro-geoinformatics2014.org/theme.html . All abstracts must be 400-500 words long and written in English. Submission format shall be following the instructions published at: http://www.agro-geoinformatics2014.org. One author may present a maximum of two papers as the first author. Important dates are listed as follows: April 15, 2014: Abstract submission deadline May 15, 2014: Notification of abstract acceptance June 15, 2014: Early Registration Deadline July 5, 2014: Author Registration Deadline July 5, 2014: Full paper submission Deadline August 11-14, 2014: Agro-Geoinformatics 2014 All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed to maintain high quality presentations. Conference proceedings will be published in the IEEE Xplore database. Only papers, presented at the conference by one of the listed authors and duly registered for the conference, will be retained in the conference proceedings. The extended version of the selected papers will be published in a special issue of a SCI indexed journal: The Journal of Applied Remote Sensing.
