Call for Papers: International Journal on Social Technologies

Special Issue on Social impact of Internet of Things

Theme and Scope:

The theme of Social Technologies covers the application of social technologies in the areas of human rights protection, e-justice implementation, personal and community data security, society functionality and communication, networked teaching and education, health systems solutions, leisure activity arrangement and design of social goods. This
international journal is focused on systematic analysis of the technical, legal, political, economic, psychological and social barriers to more effective use of information and communication and new (nano-, bio-, mega-) technologies for society to discuss the latest scientific developments and offer practical solutions to the public.

Recent advances in the field of cyber-physical systems have expanded their application to a much broader scope than their traditional one, which included sensor networks and domotics. The Internet of Things (IoT) is now a ubiquitous presence in our life, and it expands the reach of ICT to all areas of our society.

This special issue is focused on the theme of the social impact of the Internet of Things, and its dual concept, the application of social paradigms to the IoT. This special issue aims to foster the dissemination of high quality research in any new theory, technique, and research related to the intersection of social technologies and the IoT, with goals including but not limited to:
- To reveal possibilities of IoT and ubiquitous applications to social spheres, content, extent, tendencies, and to foresee tasks and recommendations as to how this technology can transform various spheres of social life.
- To consider the application of the social paradigm to different aspects of IoT and ubiquitous applications, such as routing protocols, collaborative data collection, user profiling, privacy preserving.
- To encourage scientific researches seeking for new theoretical and practical solutions to apply IoT paradigms to sustainable development of society and to edutainment.
- To provide a chance for academia and industry to present novel theoretical and experimental studies real IoT installations.
- To propose business models for the exploration of IoT and ubiquitous computing applications.
