CoHeB 2015
Third International Workshop on Collaboration Technologies and Systems in Healthcare and Biomedical Fields part of the 2015 International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems (CTS 2015, http://cisedu.us/rp/cts15/cts-2015) The Westin Atlanta Airport Hotel Atlanta, Georgia, USA June 1-5, 2015 More details and up-to-date information at: http://cisedu.us/rp/cts15/2-conference/cts-2015-workshops/workshop-10-coheb IMPORTANT DATES Paper Submissions: ----------------------------------------- February 28, 2015 Acceptance Notification: ----------------------------------- March 14, 2015 Camera Ready Papers and Registration Due: ----------- March 25, 2015 Conference Dates: ----------------------------------------- June 1-5, 2015 SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES Collaborative technologies are pervading every field of the modern society, influencing the way we act, work and socially interact. Collaboration technologies and systems in healthcare and in general in biomedical fields create new ways to develop, provide and improve the quality of health services. The potentialities disclosed by collaborative technologies range from education to direct clinical applications (including home monitoring, telerehabilitation, remote surgery, etc.), passing through remote consultation and second opinion, electronic health record and patient’s data sharing, development of social virtual spaces and communities for patients, and many more. Collaborative technologies in healthcare are necessary for the development of telehealth and telemedicine services but can also be used to facilitate both inclusion and participation for disadvantaged categories such as the elderly, the people with disabilities, etc. They cut costs while increasing access and providing convenience. Broadening to the biomedical field, including biomedical research, collaboration technologies are also used in bioinformatics and life sciences. CoHeB workshop aims at providing a scientific forum for disseminating and discussing the latest advances and research results in the development and/or application of collaboration technologies and systems in healthcare and biomedical fields. The main objective is to bring together researchers, scientists as well as practitioners from academia, industry, government, and research institutions in a multidisciplinary environment where novel ideas and recent achievements can be presented, fostering the creation of new networks and collaborations among ICT researchers and health professionals. The workshop will include a keynote speech, contributed paper sessions and demos, as part of the main CTS2015 Conference. Authors are invited to send their original research works covering aspects related to the following topics: CoHeB topics include (but are not limited to) the following: - Collaborative e-Health - Pervasive Health Systems and Services - Collaborative Distributed Systems and Sensor Networks in Healthcare - Collaborative Telemedicine and Telehealth Platforms and Applications - Mobile Technologies for Healthcare Collaborative Applications - Wearable Health Sensors and Informatics - Clinical Applications using Collaborative Technologies - Evaluation of Healthcare IT Collaborative Platforms - Collaborative Aspects in Remote Clinical Procedures and Surgery - Collaborative Assistive Technologies - Collaborative ICT frameworks for Aging and Disability - Collaborative Human-Machine Interaction - Collaborative Robots and Human-Robot Interaction in Healthcare - Psychological Implications of Collaborative Systems in Healthcare - Collaborative Systems for Medical and Nursing Education & Informatics - Collaborative Serious Games for Healthcare Applications - Collaborative Decision Making and Decision Support Systems - Collaboration in Emergency Health Service - Collaboration in Disaster Recovery from Healthcare Perspective - Design and Development of Methodologies for Collaborative Healthcare IT Systems - Cloud Computing in Healthcare and Biomedical Fields - Big Data Analytics in Healthcare and Biomedicine - Human-Machine Interfaces for Special Needs Persons - Collaborative Systems for Data Mining in Healthcare and Biomedicine - Databases and Data Warehousing in Bioinformatics and Healthcare - Knowledge Management and Discovery for Healthcare - Semantics and Ontologies for Healthcare and Bioinformatics - Interoperable Health Information Exchange - Medical Data Visualization Issues in Collaborative Scenarios - Electronic Health Records and Standards - Privacy and Data Security in Collaborative Healthcare and Biomedicine Environments - Collaborative Software Systems in Healthcare and Medicine - Collaborative Healthcare Management Systems - Health and Medical Collaboratories - Collaborative Healthcare Projects Development - Collaborative Technologies for Health Technology Assessment PAPER SUBMISSION You are invited to submit original and unpublished research works on above and other topics related to collaboration technologies and systems in healthcare and biomedical fields. Submitted papers must not have been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Submission should include a cover page with authors' names, affiliation addresses, fax numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses. Please, indicate clearly the corresponding author and include up to 6 keywords from the above list of topics and an abstract of no more than 400 words. The full manuscript should be at most 8 pages using the two-column IEEE format. Additional pages will be charged additional fee. Short papers (up to 4 pages), poster papers and posters (please refer to http://cts2015.cisedu.info/home/posters for the posters submission details) will also be accepted for submission. Please include page numbers on all preliminary submissions to make it easier for reviewers to provide helpful comments. Submit a PDF copy of your full manuscript via the Workshop submission Web page at https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=coheb2015. If the submission is for a short paper, a poster paper, or a poster, please indicate that on the manuscript as well. Only PDF files will be accepted, uploaded to the Workshop link above. Each paper will receive a minimum of three reviews. Extensions of previous researches mandatorily require reference to the previous work. Papers will be selected based on their originality, relevance, significance, technical clarity, and presentation. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted. No withdrawal after the acceptance decision is permitted unless there is reasonable cause as determined by the workshop organizers. Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their papers will be registered and presented at the workshop. Accepted papers will be published in the Conference proceedings. Instructions for final manuscript format and requirements will be posted on the CTS 2015 Conference web site. It is our intent to have the proceedings formally published in hard and soft copies and be available at the time of the conference. The proceedings is projected to be included in the IEEE Digital Library and indexed in major indexing services accordingly. We are planning a special issue in an international journal for a selected set of the accepted papers. More information on this will be available later. If you have any questions about paper submission or the workshop, please contact the workshop organizers. STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS The 2015 International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems (CTS 2015) offers a small number of contingency student travel grants (pending sponsors) to qualifying and selected students who need a supplement to their travel support to present an accepted paper at any of CTS's meetings. If approved, the support will be partial. For questions and inquiries, please contact the conference Program Chairs or consult the Conference organizers. http://cisedu.us/rp/cts15/2-conference/student-travel-grants AWARDS As in previous years, CTS 2015 will have "Outstanding Paper Award" and "Outstanding Poster Paper/Poster Award". The awards will be made by the Awards Committees for contributions which are outstanding in their scientific quality, timeliness, and relevance. In addition to a certificate/plaque, each award includes one free registration for the next year CTS conference.
