Call For Papers

The Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) provide the ability to decouple the network functions from the underlying physical infrastructure. Specifically, SDN allows the capability to manage network services through the abstraction of lower-level functionality. On the other hand, NFV can virtualize the entire classes of network node functions into a number of building blocks that could be connected for communication services. As a result, SDN & NFV enables rapid networks and services innovation for all participants. This is different than the traditional telecommunications industry that follows rigorous standards for stability, protocol adherence and quality, which leads to a long production cycles and slow pace of evolution.

There are a number of SDN & NFV research issues such as the architecture design, SDN or NFV elements, deployments, security, and services. SDN&NFV workshop 2016 solicits previously unpublished research papers in the relevant area. Authors are invited to submit original technical papers covering but not limited to the topics of interest listed below:

· SDN architectures, planning, and SDN-oriented elements such as Router, Switch, Gateway
· SDN & OpenFlow and open source
· NFV infrastructure and hardware acceleration
· Control plane architectures and network operating systems for SDN/NFV elements
· Forwarding plane abstractions and programmability paradigms
· Application programming interfaces, protocols, and programming languages
· New applications in the NFV and SDN networks.
· SDN/NFV data plane and control plane
· Performance evaluation such as scalability, reliability, and faulty resiliency.
· Security including security function virtualization, security as a service, dynamic service chaining
· SDN/NFV tools
· Big Data models and analytics for NFV and SDN
· Software-based Integration of computing, storage & networks
· Mobile Services, Cloud, and SDN & NFV
· Future Enterprise Network and SDN/NFV user cases

Important Dates
Submission deadline for full (8 pages) and short (4 pages) papers: July 15 2016

Notification of acceptance: August 15 2016

Camera-ready and registration deadline: September 1 2016

Submissions:

EDAS Submission: http://edas.info/N22295, Click me or http://edas.info/ by selecting “SDN&NFV 2016”.

Electronic submission: papers@cyberc.org with title of “SDN 2016 Submission” is also accepted.

Please DO NOT submit in both ways.

Manuscript Guidelines

All submitted manuscripts should be prepared as technical papers and may not exceed 8 letter size (8.5 x 11) pages including figures, tables and references using the IEEE format for conference proceedings (print area of 6-1/2 inches (16.51 cm) wide by 8-7/8 inches (22.51 cm) high, two-column format with columns 3-1/16 inches (7.85 cm) wide with a 3/8 inch (0.81 cm) space between them, single-spaced 10-point Times fully justified text). For more information please see ftp://pubftp.computer.org/Press/ Outgoing/proceedings/. Submissions not conforming to these guidelines may be returned without review. The submitted manuscripts can be prepared in Word, or Latex using the IEEE templates, but authors should finally submit the manuscript in PDF format and make sure that the file will print on a printer that uses letter size (8.5 x 11) paper. The official language of the meeting is English.

Manuscript submission procedure is available over the Web at http://edas.info/. We encourage you to use EDAS online submission by selecting “SDN&NFV 2016”. If you have troubles in using the Web submission, you can also submit your paper to papers@cyberc.org or contact us. Electronic submissions must be in the form of a readable PDF file.

Submitted manuscripts have to present the original unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other conference or journal. Papers not following these guidelines will be rejected without review and further action may be taken, including (but not limited to) notifications sent to the heads of the institutions of the authors and sponsors of the conference. Submissions received after the due date, exceeding length limit, or not appropriately structured may also not be considered.

Paper Acceptance
All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by experts in the fields and will be judged from the aspects of problem significance, contributions, originality, correctness, technical strength, quality of presentation, and relevance to the conference attendees. Papers will be accepted with Regular Papers and Short Papers with maximal 8 pages and 4 pages in the final version respectively.

Publications
Accepted and presented papers will be included into the IEEE Conference Proceeding for publication via IEEE Computer Society CPS (Conference Publishing Services). All the accepted papers in 2015 are collected in the IEEE Explore, EI Compendex, EI Inspec, and Google Scholar.
