Call for Demos
MobiSys seeks proposals for live demonstrations of mobile computing technologies. Live demos provide an opportunity to give a flavor of real-life applications made possible by your system. Particularly encouraged are the demonstrations that include participation by conference attendees. Research prototypes as well as commercial products are welcome. However, MobiSys is not an appropriate forum for marketing or sales presentations. The presenter is expected to understand the system being demonstrated and explain the technical contributions of the system to the audience. Demonstrations of previously published systems are also welcome. Demonstrations will be selected based on the expected interest from the MobiSys audience. A demo submission requires only an extended abstract no longer than one 8.5x11-inch page, including all figures and references, describing the demonstration as well as any special requirements (other than a demo booth/table). The extended abstract should be formatted in 8.5x11-inch pages, two columns, single-spaced, with a font no smaller than 10-point. The demo title should begin with "Demo:". Submissions must be in Adobe PDF format. Demo proposals should be submitted directly to joy.zhang@sv.cmu.edu and yysu@csie.ntu.edu.tw. Please use the CR format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates) for your submissions (please choose "Option 2" (http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates#aL2) if LaTex is used). The abstracts of accepted demonstrations will be posted on the conference website and will appear in the conference proceedings. Demo Video Demo submissions are encouraged to submit a companion video clip showcasing their demo. Video clips should highlight the technical contributions of the demo and be no more than 90 seconds in length. Demo video clips will be posted on the conference website. Videos can be submitted by including a link to the video along with the extended abstract submission. Best Demo All demos will be considered for the Best Demo Award. The winner will be selected at the conference by an independent review committee. Important Dates - Submission deadline: Friday, April 12, 2013 (9:00 PM PST) - Notification of acceptance: Wednesday, April 17, 2013 - Camera-ready version due: Sunday, April 21, 2013 |
