CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS
Proposal Submission Deadline: February 28, 2018
Title: Secure Cyber-Physical Systems for Smart Cities

To be published by IGI Global: https://www.igi-global.com/publish/call-for-papers/call-details/3113

Introduction:

Recently, the interest of various stack holders (government, industry, academia, and citizens) in building the smart cities has grown exponentially. One of the key challenges for the success of any smart city project is the assurance of smart security and privacy of the citizens. The concept of the smart city can be realized using a wide range of interconnected cyber-physical systems such as ZigBee, RFID, WiFi, Bluetooth, VANETs etc. With the help of these heterogeneous systems, data is processed and exchanged between multiple stakeholders. This phenomenon introduces large and complex attack surface, which cannot be handled with traditional security solutions. This books will cover discussion on new security frameworks, solutions, cybersecurity laws and regulations, and risk management frameworks for a smart city environment.

Objective:

According to Frost & Sullivan, the global smart cities market is projected to reach $1.56 trillion by 2020. Security in a smart city is one of the major challenging issue as discussed recently in various major conferences like RSA, ACM CCS, IEEE Security and Privacy etc. Currently, there are not many books available in the market which discusses the privacy and security issues of a smart city in a comprehensive manner. This book will try to fill this gap by providing the recent advances in a smart city security and privacy. This will help the researchers and engineers to design and implement safe, secure and reliable smart city project.
