Call For Papers

Seniors Housing & Care Journal is accepting submissions for its 2013 issue. The Journal is a peer-reviewed, academic journal that disseminates empirically based research regarding the senior housing and care fields; addresses critical issues faced by senior care professionals; and is relevant to the day-to-day operation of senior communities. The Journal accepts research papers (original reports of completed research) and brief reports (pilot studies about innovative ideas for senior housing and care with implications for future research). Occasionally, a limited number of commentaries addressing emerging issues faced by the senior housing and care industry and brief reviews of new resources available to practitioners in the field may be accepted for publication.

Research paper topics may include (but are not limited to):
• Government, Policy, and Regulatory Issues in Senior Housing
• Outcomes Data Related to Senior Housing
• Market Research
• Market Analysis and Macro Trends
• Senior Housing Affordability
• Staffing Issues within Senior Housing Communities
• Senior Housing Operations
• Risk Management
• Finance
• New Trends in Senior Housing

The National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry and Mather LifeWays are pleased to announce the New Investigator Scholarship Award to be presented to a graduate student or new investigator for an original, evidence-based paper that addresses critical issues faced by professionals, providers, or investors in the field of senior living. The original paper should demonstrate scientific rigor and make a contribution to the senior living industry. The winning paper will be published in the 2013 issue of Seniors Housing & Care Journal.

New for 2012, NIC, with assistance from Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging, is working to make the Seniors Housing & Care Journal an open access journal. This means that all content will be freely available without charge to a user and/or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.

Annually, editors select up to two outstanding research papers for publication and special recognition.
