Themes
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technologies emcompass development of P2P techniques and applications which represent a significant fraction of the whole Internet traffic. The advancement of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technologies cover both soft and hard research problems. The soft side of P2P research works include study of P2P with respect to the social-psychological issues such as education, behavior and learning. The hard side of P2P includes P2P for file sharing and content dissemination, live video broadcasting, multiparty interactive gaming, as well as for large scale VoIP and teleconferencing applications. The current peer-to-peer applications and protocols have been designed for peers running in normal PCs and a variety of terminals (PDAs, NAS boxes, etc.) and access networks (xDSL, Wi-Fi, WiMax, WMNs, etc.) equipped with a broadband connection to the Internet.Simulation technique is one of the approches that is widely used to evaluate perforamnce and design of a proposed model of a P2P model and application. This is a not expensive and fast way to test novel solutions. The use of P2P as a media platform and communication channel have also allowed a truly distributed knowledge network and multi user collaborative game and message eco-system to be built for education, behavior, conceptual business model, and organizational learning study.
