23-28 July 2012: Joint Conference ICMPC-ESCOM 2012 Deadlines 5 December 2011 : Deadline for Abstract Submission 6 February 2012 : Acceptance of abstract 5 March 2012 : Early registration Deadline 30 April 2012 : Full paper submission for inclusion in the Conference proceedings 14 May 2012 : Registration fee due by at least one author for each submission in order for the paper to be included in the Abstract book and Proceedings Theme Central theme of the conference is music cognition, i.e., the study of the cognitive processes involved when humans listen to music and when they create or perform music. Submissions are invited that report empirical and theoretical research that contributes to a better understanding of how music is perceived, represented and generated. Research is welcome from a broad range of disciplines, such as psychology, psychophysics, philosophy, aesthetics, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, psychoacoustics, linguistics, music theory, anthropology, cognitive science, education. The conference consists of invited keynote lectures, workshops, papers and poster sessions, and symposia arranged around specific themes.
