DIViM 2015 - Workshop on Designing Interaction and Visualization for Mobile Applications
(http://hciv.de/divim15/) September 14, 2015, Bamberg, Germany Held in conjunction with the 15th IFIP TC.13 International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (INTERACT 2015) ===================================================================================== CALL FOR PAPERS -------------------- The 15th IFIP TC.13 International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction - INTERACT 2015 - takes place from 14 to 18 September 2015 in Bamberg, Germany. The theme of INTERACT 2015 is "Connection.Tradition.Innovation". INTERACT is among the world's top conferences in Human-Computer Interaction. DIViM 2015 workshop will be held in conjunction with the INTERACT 2015 at Banberg, Germany on September 14, 2015. The recent advances in mobile environments bring new challenges and open issues for the different responsible parties (e.g., interaction designers, visualization and HCI experts, etc.) in developing intuitive and interactive mobile applications. In this context, designing intuitive interaction and visualization plays an important role for many purposes, e.g., improved user experience and aesthetics. In addition, better interaction modes and suitable visual representations in mobile apps are critical for the successful executions of the users’ required tasks. However, this requires not only an intensive collaboration between the responsible parties – especially the interaction/UX designers, visualization and HCI experts – but also needs focusing on novel interaction and visualization approaches and techniques targeting this new mobile paradigm. Inspired by the critical role of interaction design and visualization in the current mobile app development, DIViM 2015 focuses on different issues and limitations regarding designing intuitive interaction and visualization for mobile apps and devices, as well as how to overcome these limits through novel approaches and techniques. TOPICS ------- DIViM 2015 is dedicated to observations, concepts, approaches, techniques, and practices that allow understanding, facilitating, and increasing the awareness of the role of designing and implementing intuitive interactions and visualizations for mobile applications. Topics of interest for paper submissions include, but are not limited to: * Novel interaction and visualization techniques and methods targeting current mobile apps and devices * Frameworks and approaches for designing new interaction techniques and intuitive visualization * Novel visual interactive techniques targeting mobile devices * Scalability issues * Context and usage issues * Accessibility and usability issues * Interaction and visualization for mobile smart watches * User-centric interaction/visualization * Novel developments in mobile virtual or augmented reality * Testing/Evaluation * Tools and environments to support the designing and building of interactive visualization * Case studies and best practices IMPORTANT DATES ---------------- Submission deadline: Friday, June 12, 2015 Notification of acceptance: Thursday, June 25, 2015 Camera-ready submission: Wednesday, July 01, 2015 Workshop: Monday, September 14, 2015 Note that all submission deadlines are firm. All submission deadlines are 23:59 Pacific Standard Time (PST). SUBMISSIONS ------------ Full papers (up to 8-10 pages) and short/position/vision papers (up to 4-6 pages) are accepted. The submitted papers should be prepared using the University of Bamberg Press Format (http://www.interact2015.org/cfp.html). Submissions must be written in English. All papers submitted to the workshop must be unpublished original work and must not have been submitted elsewhere for publication. The selection of papers will be based on workshop relevance, academic rigor, innovation, industrial applicability, quality of writing and for their ability to trigger discussions. Submissions must be in PDF format and submitted electronically via EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=divim2015). Accepted papers will be included in official adjunct conference proceedings at the University of Bamberg Press.
