Want a chance to win $100?
We are now seeking and accepting submissions for the Fall 2023 issue of Asian American Voices. Asian-American Voices is a publication dedicated to covering all the parts of the Asian-American community, with a focus on raising Asian-American voices. This provides individuals with a public platform for their personal works. The deadline for Fall submissions is September 30th, 2023 for print form. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE OF ASIAN-AMERICAN BACKGROUND TO SUBMIT Prizes: Each winning entry will receive a degree of the CHW Lotus Award. First place will receive the Distinguished CHW Lotus Award and $100. Second place will receive the Superior CHW Lotus Award and $50. Third place will receive the CHW Lotus Award and $25. Seasonal print copies will be distributed at local institutions, as well as display of select submission on this website year-round, regardless of season. Please be aware that submission does NOT guarantee publication. This issue’s topic is “Asian-American Experiences in the United States”. This topic is flexible, and so long as your work is in some way related to Asian-Americans, we will be okay with it(though we prefer works related to the topic). Following review of submitted works, publication and award decisions will be sent out to those who submitted. This is a static amount, and will not increase or decrease depending on the potential number of collaborators. IF YOU SUBMITTED TO THE SPRING 2023 CALL FOR PAPERS, YOUR WORK WILL BE GUARANTEED PUBLICATION IN THE FALL ISSUE. Submission Guidelines: Written works, either of a creative or academic nature, should be no longer than 5000 words. Art, music, and videos will be accepted alongside written works. Works should be in some way related to Western, Central, Southern, Northern, or Eastern Asia. You do not necessarily need to be of Asian-American background to submit, so long as your work is thematically appropriate. Infographic works must be submitted in adequate resolution, in PNG format. Please include personal contact information (name, phone number, or email) along with submission to facilitate contact in the case of selection.
