Call For Papers

Scope and Aim of the Book Chapters
This book is a compilation of the current advances in all topics of robotics concerning Autonomy, Data Fusion and AI to yield a contribution on the future research directions in these fields. We expect that this book will succeed in invigorating research interests towards the development and applications of robotics for intelligent systems. Robotics may be exploited to assist human beings in a number of ways from field service to unmanned aerial vehicles, automotive, rehabilitation, navigation, data fusion, control, vision, etc. The goal of this book is to exchange research theoretical and experimental results to realize advancements in autonomous robotics. Robotics is rapidly growing, interdisciplinary research areas lying at the intersection of computer science, mechatronics, control systems, electrical and mechanical engineering. Technologies, algorithms, system architectures, and applications will be presented and discussed on this book. The call for book chapters will invite authors of the following field to contribute their chapters towards this innovative and challenging book: We encourage participation from a wide range of disciplines including Robotics, Control, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Neuroscience, Human-Robot Interaction, Robotics Vision, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Humanoids and so forth.

Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
Mobile Robotics
Autonomous Navigation
Path Tracking and Control
Environment Mapping
Cognitive Robotic Systems
Adaptive Learning Systems
Intelligent Control Systems
Computer Vision and Visual Odometry
Data Fusion
Robots Mechanical Design
Underwater and Aerial Robotics

Researchers and practitioners are kindly invited to send by January 31, 2011 a PDF file using the submission system at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=arcsp11 containing a preliminary title, authors name, affiliations, and a short abstract of their chapter. This will facilitate the planning of the review process. All submitted chapters will follow an academic review process.

Full paper manuscripts must be in English with a length of 30 pages preferred, using the LaTeX template found at http://www.easychair.org/coolnews.cgi (authors must download the package containing the class file and its user guide). The chapter must include the title, author(s), affiliation(s), e-mail address(es), tel/fax numbers, abstract, and postal address(es) on the first page.

Papers will be selected based on their originality (unpublished works), timeliness, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Papers should be submitted in PDF.

Important dates:
Submission Deadline for chapter proposals (title and short abstract): Jan 31, 2011 extended until FEB 8, 2011 (because of authors request)
Notification of acceptance/rejection of chapter proposals: Feb 12, 2011
Deadline for full chapters: March 31, 2011
Notification of acceptance/rejection of full chapters: June 12, 2011
Deadline for submission of final chapters: July 11, 2011

Publication
All chapter contributions will be compiled in a book, which will be published by Cuvillier-Verlag Publishing House, an international company specialized in high-quality scientific publishing. The book will be registered with an international standard book number (ISBN).
