Over the last ten years, scholars and experts in intelligent transportation systems (ITS) have paid growing attention to pioneering new technological breakthroughs in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) combined with the concept of trust, wherein vehicles operate with a conviction in peer vehicles in the pursuit of maintaining safe and efficient traffic flows. Various research studies have employed trust management methods in the hope of preventing various insider attacks, in which legitimate users' communications are changed or falsified by malevolent organizations, putting the lives of passengers, drivers, and vulnerable pedestrians in jeopardy. A variety of contributing parameters describing the exchanges among these cars are gathered over the process of vehicles establishing insights into peer vehicles to make an informed decision as to whether to trust a target vehicle. The importance of these contributing elements is often expressed by assigning a weighting factor to each of them. The numbers provided to these weighting elements are frequently established manually, i.e., they are predetermined and do not take any influencing parameters into account. Additionally, based on the computed trust score, the peer vehicles are divided into honest and dishonest vehicles in line with a predetermined threshold. In addition, the use of adversary models as a supplement to trust management models to combat insider attack variations has received much attention in academia. As a result, this book examines the current state of the art in vehicular trust management, concentrating on weight quantification, peer recommendation, threshold quantification, and misbehaviour detection, among others. In addition, an overall IoV architecture, elements under the idea of trust, and threats linked to the IoV, as well as open research challenges in the topic domain, are provided.
