Call For Papers

INNOVATE with #PacRim2021 Call for Presentations

The Center on Disability Studies, in the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa College of Education, is accepting presentation proposals to be featured at the 36th Annual Pacific Rim International Conference on Disability and Diversity (PacRim). The conference is being held virtually March 1–2, 2021, and proposals are due on December 20, 2020 at pacrim.coe.hawaii.edu.

The theme of the conference is INNOVATE to rethink, recreate, and bring about changes, new ideas, and opportunities to address the current and future needs of people with disabilities and other underrepresented groups towards inclusion, equity, and social justice.

Conference topics include:
Indigenous Knowledge, Perspectives, and Approaches;
Education, Teaching and Classroom Practices;
Deaf Community;
Family and Community Engagement;
Flourishing, Well-being, and Social-Emotional Learning;
Online Learning and Technology;
Transition, Inclusive Postsecondary Education, and Self-Determination;
Creativity and the Arts; and
Employment.

Presentations will be synchronous or asynchronous 30-minute poster presentations. Formats include: Paper Session in which presenters share evidence of innovative and/or sound research practices; Skill Share to share a specific take-away skill; Talk Story to facilitate an engaging conversation around a topic area; and Poster Session, which is an electronic visual display of information from papers or best practices.
