Call For Papers

A language-agnostic tech conference about scalability, distributed systems, security, machine learning, DevOps, modern software tools, and practices.

Organized by a team of active members of the software community in Colombia, ScaleConf Colombia is a 2-day pioneering language-agnostic tech conference in the region about scalability, distributed systems, security, artificial intelligence, DevOps and modern software tools and practices. Its objective is to level up the community’s knowledge by bringing great speakers from all around the world that is paving the way for tomorrow’s apps and services, to be ready for a global scale.

Our last event was successful beyond our expectations, with over 350 attendees, 19 awesome speakers, 14 sponsors and 2 days of exciting talks. Our next event is happening May 17 & 18, 2019!

**CFP Description**

At ScaleConf Colombia we welcome talks of any technical level: our community is composed of people coming from many backgrounds and different years of experience. We’re also a language-agnostic event, so while you may use small examples in a given language, we suggest you keep it general. That’ll make more people be interested in your talk!

If you need inspiration, you may consider talks revolving around Cloud, scalability, architecture, culture (especially DevOps), security, artificial intelligence, distributed systems, machine learning, battle stories (talking about some problem, and how you solved it) and tips for beginners.

Please refrain from submitting an advertising talk. That doesn’t mean you can’t mention specific tools, services or providers, but it’s better if you focus on how you use them to achieve something cool, rather than what they are.

Oh, and our submission and review process is totally anonymized so we can focus exclusively on your talk’s content. That also means you should refrain from mentioning revealing aspects of your identity (name, twitter handle, employer, etc.) to avoid any bias while we’re reviewing your proposal.

We’ll cover your flight tickets, as well as accommodation for three nights, starting the day before the conference (May 16th) leaving on the day after the event ends on May 19th. If you’re coming with your partner or children, we’ll do our best to accommodate them too and find daycare for your children. Your +1 is welcomed to join us at all of our events.

If your company can cover your travel expenses and your talk is chosen, let us know, and we’ll add them as travel sponsor!
