The 29th annual IEEE International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering (ISSRE) invites you to attend and contribute to the leading conference in its field. ISSRE focuses on innovative, high-impact techniques and tools for assessing, predicting, and improving the reliability, safety, and security of software products and computational systems and infrastructures. ISSRE publications, tracks and workshops emphasize industrial relevance and rigorous empirical studies.
ISSRE has grown over the years to become one of the few forums where the technical leadership from both academic institutions and economic players meet to learn from each other. Research papers are extensively reviewed by a large program committee and the selected papers are coveted. A committee of leading industry experts separately reviews papers Industry track papers, emphasizing innovation, relevance and applicability. ISSRE has some of the best Industry case studies reported. We also take special pride in our workshops, which have picked up considerable momentum with some becoming regular and co-locating with ISSRE year after year. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Reliability, availability and safety of software systems Validation and Verification Faults, errors, failures, defects, bugs Software quality and productivity Software security Dependability, survivability, fault tolerance and resilience of software systems Systems (hardware + software) reliability engineering Metrics and measurements, estimation, prediction of quality/reliability Services reliability engineering Open source software reliability engineering Web 2.0 reliability, availability and security issues Supporting tools and automation Industry best practices Software as a Service Virtualization and software reliability Reliability of mobile devices and applications Green and Sustainable Software Engineering Reliability of Big Data and Internet of Things Empirical studies of any of the above topics Software Standards 1. Call for Research Papers:The main research track is soliciting original, unpublished research papers in three categories: (1) full research (regular) papers, (2) practical experience reports, and (3) wild and provocative ideas (WAP) papers. Abstract Submission May 1, 2018 Full Research Paper Submission May 5, 2018 Rebuttal Period June 28 - July 1, 2018 Notification July 15, 2018 Camera Ready August 13, 2018 2. Call for Industry Track:The Industry papers and presentations should address the application of software engineering practices to a specific domain or to the development of a substantial software system. They are expected to be of interest to software development professionals, as well as to software quality and process improvement groups with concrete relation to industrial application. Paper Submission July 1, 2018 Abstract/Presentation Submission July 1, 2018 Notification Paper July 13, 2018 Notification Abstract/Presentation July 13, 2018 Camera Ready (Paper, Abstract) August 21, 2018 3. Call for Workshops:ISSRE strongly encourages workshops as a means to build communities and seed new ones that are vital to current interests in Research and Industry. Proposals will be reviewed by the ISSRE 2018 Organizing Committee based on their fitness with ISSRE's goals, relevance to the larger ISSRE community and our belief that the organisers can deliver a successful workshop. Workshop length can be either half day or one full day. Call for Tutorials:ISSRE 2018 welcomes tutorial proposals presenting techniques and tools for assessing, predicting, and improving the reliability, safety, and security of software products, and related topics. Proposal submission July 1, 2018 Notification July 13, 2018 5. Call for Fast Abstracts:The main goal of this track is to have experienced researchers and practitioners present their ideas and positions on open problems, research trends, or controversial issues. Fast abstracts are two-page articles to introduce these ideas and positions. They will be reviewed according to their ability to seed new ideas and allow for rich interaction with the audience. Fast Track Submission July 21, 2018 Notification August 13, 2018 Camera Ready August 28, 2018 6. Call for Doctoral Symposium:Students at all stages (at the beginning, at the middle and at the end of their PhD) who are working on a research area or a thesis topic relevant to ISSRE are encouraged to participate in the Doctoral Symposium.
