The Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for Information and Computer Science's 2009 Annual Conference will take place from Tuesday 25th to Thursday 27th August 2009, at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
The key topics for the 2009 Conference are: Emerging Technologies and Web 2.0 in Teaching* Pedagogic Innovation Groupwork and Collaborative Learning* Evaluating Learning and Teaching Improving Assessment and Student Feedback Distance Learning / Virtual Learning* The First Year Experience Managing Change Enhancing Employer Engagement* Internationalisation Outreach and Widening Participation National Policy/Future directions in the ICS disciplines* E-governance* Computer Ethics and Social Responsibility Knowledge Management* Information Literacy* The Teaching and Research Nexus* Supporting New Academic Staff The ICS Subject Centre would like to offer an Information & Library Studies / Science (ILS) strand at this year's conference and would particularly like to encourage contributions from the ILS community on topics indicated with an * above. Submissions for papers, workshops and posters are welcomed. Submission guidelines can be found at: http://www.ics.heacademy.ac.uk/events/10th-annual-conf/submissionguidelines.php All submissions will be subject to an anonymous peer review process. Every paper must be presented by at least one of the authors or a nominee, otherwise their paper will not be included in the conference proceedings. Contributors invited to present at the conference must register as a delegate by Friday 26th June 2009. We look forward to receiving your contributions. Please note the deadline for the receipt of submissions is Friday 17th April 2009. You should receive an email confirming receipt of your submission within one working week.
