CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS FOR A BOOK VOLUME ON:

Transformative Power of Mobile Phones and Social Media Use in Developing Countries

Published by Apple Academic Press (CRC Press- Taylor & Francis Group)

The editors of forthcoming volume titled ‘’Transformative Power of Mobile Phones and Social Media Use in Developing Countries’’ (to be published as part of book series on Computing Innovations for E-transformation of Underdeveloped Communities in the World) are pleased to invite you and members of your working group to submit a chapter for this book volume, to be published by Apple Academic Press, USA. The objective of this book series is to offer academia/governments/Non-Governmental Organizations/technologists/users from different disciplines information to gain knowledge on the breadth and depth of this multifaceted field. Mobile phones and social media platforms offer concrete opportunities for developing countries to transform different sectors of their economies, namely; the agricultural, health, education, and governance (political participation) sectors. There is an urgent need to explore and investigate the recent innovations, shortcomings and future challenges of using mobile phones and social media technologies to leverage transformation in the different sectors. This book volume, in short, will explore how the recent use of mobile phones and social media technologies have transformed the agricultural, health, education, and the governance sectors in developing countries. We welcome high-quality book chapter contributions centered (but not exclusively) on the following themes.

• Citizen engagement
• Political campaign and communication
• Civil Society Networking
• Activism and Civic Engagement
• Election Monitoring



Type of Contributions
• Case studies: In-depth reports on the use of mobile phones and social media technologies to transform the agricultural, health, education, and the governance (political participation) sectors in developing countries
• Full research papers: Both quantitative and qualitative contributions that study a particular aspect of mobile phones and social media technologies in transforming the agricultural, health, education and the governance (political participation) sectors in developing countries
• Research in progress will also be considered in the book provided the findings are of substantial relevance to this book.
• Systematic reviews that synthesize existing studies will also be accepted
Author(s) interested in this theme may submit a short proposal [Title, authors' names and contact information, summary, keywords by email: (eiluemma@yahoo.co.uk)or (goyalmegh@gmail.com). Authors are requested to submit the chapter proposal before October 30th, 2017 (Extended to Nov 15th, 2017). We expect to receive the full chapter before March 2nd, 2018.

March 2nd, 2018: Full Chapter Submission (15 Pages –Maximum, without references)
April 15th, 2018: Accept/Reject Notification
June 15th, 2018: Camera ready Submission
August 30, 2018: Final Print Version Available (Tentative)

Your submission must be made on or before the due date specified, Submissions will be reviewed in a Double-Blind Manner

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT USE COPYRIGHTED MATERIALS that have been published unless you have reprint permission from the original publisher. OPEN SOURCE articles can be evaluated. Our publisher and we editors are against plagiarism. Such activity will only delay our publication. Use of such material without having the reprint permission is unethical and punishable under International Law and may carry the fine by the authorities. The manuscripts/chapters are subjected to plagiarism checking by anti-plagiarism software at different levels.
For manuscript, we require an e-copy of full chapter submitted in Word 2010 on a letter size paper with no line numbering, a line spacing of 1.5, Times New Roman 11-point font size, margins top/bottom of 1”, margins left/right of 1.25”, and editable equations using an equation editor in WORD 2010. A typical chapter will include the title, author(s) with affiliation/email/mailing address, abstract, keywords ((10 words: we use it for book index), introduction, literature review if applicable, theoretical approach if applicable, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusions or summary, references using numbering system (and in alphabetical order), any appendix, glossary of )10 technical terms (add & define using google search or wiki), List of abbreviations in the chapter, etc. Also, we use a numbering system [in square brackets] for citations in the body of a chapter. Tables and figures should be included in the text at right place just after their citation. A specialized chapter need not follow this format. We only use US English in all our books.
