Call For Papers

The 2nd World Non-Profit & Social Marketing Conference invites submissions of academic, practice, debate, case study and strategy papers.
The goal of the 2nd World Non-Profit and Social Marketing Conference is to engage everyone with an interest in tackling key social challenges by providing a dynamic venue for learning and sharing. This conference brings together practitioners, academics, government employees and non-profit administrators to share state of the art knowledge and develop collaborative relationships. We offer several formats for interaction in order to suit the needs of this wide variety of participants.

Seminar Paper Presentations: Conceptual or empirical research papers and case studies are sought which address issues in social marketing, non-profit issues, policy development and advocacy, health promotion, community engagement and related topics. Papers will be presented to groups of up to 50 people, followed by audience discussion. Thirty minutes will be allotted to each paper.

Speed Presentations with Posters: In this session presenters will briefly introduce their research or case studies with a simple 5 minute presentation. These presentations will follow each other in close succession. Following all presentations the audience will have the opportunity to peruse posters the presenters have developed which provide more detailed information. Presenters will attend their posters, allowing audience members and presenters to engage in dialog that is more personal and extended than would be possible in a large group discussion. As with Seminar Papers, conceptual or empirical research papers and case studies are sought which address issues in social marketing, non-profit issues, policy development and advocacy, health promotion, community engagement and related topics. This outlet is ideal for smaller scale projects and “works in progress”.

Interactive Workshops: Facilitators will organise and lead learning and discussion on select topics relating to social marketing, non-profit issues, policy development and advocacy, health promotion, community engagement, etc. These sessions may take a training approach, with facilitators guiding learning activities. In this case facilitators will share interactive materials that provide a hands-on learning experience for participants seeking to develop specific skills in social marketing or materials that will focus the group on a common problem, involving the audience in a problem solving forum. Alternatively, these sessions may take the form of facilitated round table discussions in which the group grapples with current issues relevant to social marketing, non-profit issues, policy development and advocacy, health promotion, community engagement and related topics.

Debates/Special Topic Sessions: Presenters will organise a panel to discuss and debate current issues in social marketing, non-profit issues, policy development and advocacy, health promotion, community engagement and related topics.

Market Place Tables: Organisations will have a “market table” where they can display their materials, meet with visitors, and set up demonstrations relevant to their organisations, programs, or campaigns. This option offers organisations an opportunity to share information about themselves, their available products and services, and their accomplishments.

We are expecting an overwhelming number of submissions so it is recommended that papers are submitted early. The closing date is Friday 18 June 2010.

All papers should be submitted for review to the World Conference Office, submissions@wsmconference.com. Please direct any questions to the World Conference Office info@wsmconference.com Tel: +44(0)1323 637719
