Call For Papers

The Second IEEE International Workshop on Knowledge Networks (KN)
(Formerly IEEE International Workshop on Knowledge Graph as a Service)

In conjunction with the IEEE SERVICES 2020
NEW DATE: October 19-23, 2020, Beijing, China

https://conferences.computer.org/services/2020/workshops/knworkshop.html

Description and Scope

A new wave of knowledge technologies is sparking innovation in services industry. Facing the overall trend toward AI-driven intelligent services, prevailing challenges arise from both conceptual foundations and technical preparation especially involving semantic understanding and utilizations. In recent years, Knowledge Graph has been increasingly recognized as an important approach to solving the semantic related problems, not limited to question and answering systems. We have witnessed a number of solutions on Knowledge Graph covering Knowledge Graph creation, understanding, searching, reasoning, modification and especially and most recently combination through embedding technologies with Machine Learning. Hierarchical architectures which project Data, Information, Knowledge and Wisdom (DIKW) seem to be promising in fitting the challenge of organizing and addressing the capability of Knowledge Graph technologies in terms of 5W of What, Where, When, How and Why. These technologies now form into a semantic network called as Knowledge Network.

Our main theme through discussions in the workshop is the theory of DIKW architecture in the Knowledge Networks. This workshop aims to bring together researchers and industrial practitioners to discuss and exchange innovative ideas, results, work-in-progress and case studies in the Knowledge Graph, DIKW architecture and Knowledge Network. Accepted papers will be invited to prestigious journal(s) for extension after consideration from the workshop.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Small data learning
- Knowledge Graph as a Service
- AI as a Service
- Explainable Machine Learning Services
- Situation-aware Knowledge Services
- Ontology modeling for IR
- Data acquisition and linking for Edge Computing
- Information analysis and abstraction for Edge Computing
- Knowledge creation and reasoning for Edge Computing
- DIKW architecture-based content/resource processing and service provision
- Load balancing based on transformations among layers of DIKW
- Theories and methods for transformations and coordination among layers of DIKW
- Security and Privacy Services based on Knowledge Networks
- Edge and Fog Network Services related to Knowledge Networks
- Meta Modeling and formal modeling, and verification methods of semantic rich graphs
