Call For Papers

Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA) is one of the flagship conferences on Bio-Computing bringing together the world's leading scientists from different branches of Natural Computing. Since 2006 the conferences have taken place at Wuhan (2006), Zhengzhou (2007), Adelaide (2008) and Beijing (2009). The Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA 2010) is being organised and co-hosted for the first time in the United Kingdom at Liverpool Hope University, Liverpool, from September 8th to 10th, 2010. Simultaneously, the conference is being also co-located in China hosted at the University of Hunan, Changsha, from September 23rd to 26th, 2010. BIC-TA 2010 aims to provide a high-level international forum for researchers with different backgrounds working in the main areas of Natural Computing inspired by Biology to present their latest results and exchange ideas.

Recent advances in the field of bio-computing will be presented, thereby facilitating exchange scientific ideas and identifying the future trends in this exciting field. BIC-TA 2010 will consist of invited and contributed papers, special thematic sessions and tutorials on theories and applications in the field of Bio-inspired Computing. The conference invites researchers to contribute high-quality original research papers in any aspect of Bio-inspired Computing. The simultaneous occurrences of BIC-TA 2010 in the UK and China will provide the flexibility to submit papers in either of the venues. For details regarding the BIC-TA 2010 hosted by the University of Hunan at Changsha in China, please visit http://bic-ta.hnu.cn/

The proceedings of BIC-TA 2010 will be published by the IEEE and indexed by EI and IEEEXplore. The selected papers, after perreview process, will be published in a special issue of (SCI and Math Review indexed) “Natural Computing”: an International Journal (Springer Publication).

The main topics for the conference include the following:

* Evolutionary Computing
* Neural Computing
* DNA Computing
* Membrane Computing
* Complex Systems
* Computational Neuroscience

Authors are invited to submit papers presenting original and unpublished research in any aspects of the main mentioned above.

We look forward to your participation in BIC-TA 2010 at Liverpool and share your theoretical and practical expertise in the field of Bio-inspired Computing.

Welcome to Liverpool, the city of European cultural capital!
