To be competitive in the digital era, enterprises need to become sensing to be aware of their context, smart in taking decisions, and sustainable regarding social, environmental, and economic issues. Reference models can guide the enterprise engineering process in such direction, depending on the integration of enterprise resources.
The Internet of Things (IoT) has grown in recent years to a huge branch of research. With the Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies becoming more mature, the direction of IoT research is moving from single technology to an integration platform. The main purpose of such platform is able to quickly develop, adjust, and deploy IoT-based applications. As the computational power of IoT (Internet of Things) devices increases, business processes can use them to provide information about real world as well as to execute part of business processes, reducing the amount of exchanged data and central processing. Furthermore, IoT calls for new security infrastructures based on new technical standards. As a consequence, new security design for IoT shall pay attention to these new standards. Security at both the physical devices and service-applications is critical to the operation of IoT, which is indispensable for the success of IoT. This book is intended to give recent trends on enterprise information systems needs in the IoT era, such as: mutation of enterprise architecture into IoT, transformation of information systems architecture, modeling of business processes using new concepts attached to IoT, Big data analysis for business process evaluation and improvement, Business processes in the cloud, etc… It should clarify all concepts, modeling approaches and novel enterprise architecture around the new form of enterprises in the IoT era. Chapter proposals (about 3 to 5 pages) submission due: August 20th 2019. Notification of proposals acceptance due: August 25th Full chapter due: September 28th.
