Aim and Scope

Today is an era of exponential growth in applied soft computing, it opens up new market opportunities in varied aspects of the real life issues. Soft computing can be conceived as a collection of methodologies, which aim to exploit tolerance for imprecision, uncertainty and partial truth to achieve tractability, robustness and low cost solutions. The major theme of this issue is to justify the need of soft computing, which is essentially means to handle the vagueness of the real world and explore the opportunities and challenges in the field. The major focus of this issue is to collect the state-of-the-art contributions that explains the fundamentals in the field of applied soft computing as well as highlights various opportunities and challenges. This issue will give a vast coverage to the paradigm of soft computing such as fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms, evolutionary computing, rough sets and other similar techniques to address real world complexities.

This issue will emphasize on the potentials of how soft computing tools can be applied to tasks that deal with imprecise definition and uncertainty modeling to perform these tasks more effectively. It will serve as a basic reference material to researchers, academicians, scientists and industrialists working in the area of soft computing to share and exchange their views and ideas on the theory and application of soft computing techniques in multidisciplinary areas. We are aimed to provide a comprehensive platform for the researchers to come up with the innovative approaches for handling different kinds of uncertainties of real-life problems using the present state-of-art of applied soft computing. This issue is also committed to explore the future scope of work in soft computing and it is unique step to bridge the gap between theory and real life day-to-day issues. This issue will provide a unified manifesto for applied scientists to apply the soft computing tools in many diverse domains of engineering and the challenges faced during the process. This issue will focus on case studies based on synthetic data and real-life data from different domains of the life and explore the new domains of applied soft computing specially in the domain of computer networks and communications.

Notes for Prospective Authors

    1. Not limited to above areas but authors can also submit any other area relevant to the theme.

    2. This Special Issue is a call for extended papers of presentations held during the 4th International Conference on Soft Computing: Theory and Applications (SoCTA 2019), December 27-29, 2019 at National Institute of Technology Patna, India. Authors of selected papers of the conference will be invited to submit extended versions which can be published in special issue upon evaluation. Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Previously published conference papers should be clearly identified by the authors, with a mention of the conference name and a reference to the original paper, and if appropriate written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper. Papers that extend conference contributions must include at least 50% new material, and the authors should explain how such papers have been extended).

Submission Guidelines:

This Special issue targets novel, validated and intelligent solutions for exploring the field of applied soft computing, and its varied aspects for dealing with the real life issues. It will be a potential platform for presenting the case studies based on synthetic data and real-life data from different domains of the life and explore the new domains of applied soft computing. Papers detailing original R&D work with high quality, review articles based on design, development, testing, production etc. which are unpublished, related to the above theme are invited.

The symposium will also have invited talks/key-note addresses from eminent persons working in this field which will be of immense value to all. Both hardware and software solutions are solicited within the scope of the call.

Original, unpublished technical papers having novel and important contributions will be considered for the special issue; submitted papers must not be published, accepted or under review by another journal. All manuscripts should be submitted through International Journal of Computer Networks & Communications (IJCNC).

The manuscripts should be submitted to one of the guest editors by Jan 15, 2020 through email

Authors should strictly follow the manuscript format and submission procedure of International Journal of Computer Networks & Communications (IJCNC).
