=== CALL FOR PAPERS ====
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we have the pleasure to invite you to submit your contributions to the 24th Iberoamerican Congress on Pattern Recognition (CIARP 2019). The conference will be held in the Hotel Nacional, in Havana, Cuba from October 28th–31st 2019, in the context of the 500 anniversary of the foundation of the Havana City and is organized by the Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas (UCI), and the Cuban Association for Pattern Recognition (ACRP), which is affiliated to the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).

Proceedings will be published by Springer as Lecture Notes in Computer Science, two journal special issues will be published with selected papers (still in progress), and two conference awards will be given the CIARP-IAPR Best Paper Award and the Medal Aurora Pons-Porrata, with these two awards will be published a Special Section in the journal Pattern Recognition Letters.

4 TUTORIALS given by Ingela Nyström, Petra Perner, Alberto Del Bimbo, and Massimo Tistarelli and 3 INVITED KEYNOTE LECTURE by Petra Perner, Alberto Del Bimbo and Massimo Tistarelli will complete the program.

CIARP-2019 is a series of annual international conferences devoted to all aspects of pattern recognition, computer vision, multimedia and related fields. This conference will be a forum for the exchange of scientific results and experiences, as well as the sharing of new knowledge, and the increasing of the co-operation between research groups in pattern recognition and related areas.

This conference is supported by several scientific associations, including: International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR), Mexican Association for Computer Vision, Neural Computing and Robotics (MACVNR), Portuguese Association for Pattern Recognition (APRP), Spanish Association for Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis (AERFAI), Special Interest Group on Pattern Recognition of the Brazilian Computer Society (SIGPR-SBC), Chilean Association for Pattern Recognition (AChiRP), Argentine Society for Pattern Recognition (SARP-SADIO), Uruguayan Association for Pattern Recognition (APRU), and the Peruvian Association for Pattern Recognition (APeRP).

=== PAPER SUBMISSION ===
Prospective authors are invited to contribute to the conference by submitting full papers by the Springer Online Conference Service (https://ocs.springer.com/ocs/home/CIARP2019), by May 18th, 2019 at the latest through the submission option in the CIARP 2019 webpage (https://ciarp.uci.cu/). Submissions should be written in English and their length should not exceed 10 pages including illustrations, results and references. Accepted contributions must be presented at the conference in English. All submissions will be peer reviewed for originality, technical content and relevance to the theme of CIARP 2019 by three members of the Program Committee. The final acceptance will be based upon double blind peer review of the full-length paper.

All accepted papers will be included in the proceedings of the CIARP 2019, which will be published by Springer in Lecture Notes in Computer Science.

Submissions should be prepared by following the instructions of Springer for the LNCS series. (see https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines). Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and to present the communication at the conference, if it is accepted.
