In the last decade, due to globalisation, E-Businesses has been attempting to redesign the existing business value chains through the application of information technology (IT) that were previously unimaginable. The pragmatic view of value proposition through IT enhanced E-Businesses encompasses new strategic planning, alignment, management, execution and quality control assessments. Thus, E-Businesses are driving constant business transformation in both new technology execution paradigms and new assessment paradigms. Many leading edge organisations – both established and start-ups – are increasing their investments in innovative E-Business applications. Several IT vendors and service providers are positioning their products and services as “E-Business ready” and are bringing new customer value solutions to the market. The huge potential of innovative E-Business applications and competitive pressure are driving rapid adoption of sustainable business plans that reflects concurrent top-down and bottom-up perspectives of E-Business design, development and implementation sequences.

Considered the future of businesses and follow-ons, E-Businesses, are already making headway. What are E-Business philosophical basics? What are the challenges and uncertainties related to innovative E-Business solutions? Views differ depending on a shift from technology-driven to stakeholder-driven E-Business design, development and implementation rationale among the business and technology managers and so on. These incarnations of E-Businesses, while they may seem somewhat ambitious and futuristic, they are already gaining growing interest and prominence, and are making progress.

As leading edge organisations have begun to harness these new generation E-Business applications to their advantage, researchers are addressing unresolved issues, and adopting a holistic, yet thematic, approach towards exploring a wide array of interconnected business concepts, technologies and activities involved in evaluating the business opportunities that innovative E-Business solutions may afford.
