CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS (Deadline is extended to 30 April 2010) ************************** TITLE OF BOOK: Ubiquitous Multimedia and Mobile Agents: Models and Implementations EDITOR: Dr. Susmit Bagchi, Samsung Electronics Ltd. TO BE PUBLISHED BY: IGI GLOBAL, USA. http://old.igi-global.com/requests/details.asp?ID=778 ************************** Introduction The ubiquitous multimedia systems, or mobile multimedia systems, offer the promise of pervasive delivery of multimedia contents to the mobile users to their hand-held devices. The ubiquitous/mobile multimedia systems have enormous research challenges and, also, commercial potentials for the end products. The ubiquitous multimedia systems involve user/creator authentication, media adaptation, data delivery over wireless network, QoS awareness, and user-mobility management. On the other hand, the mobile agent technology is appropriate for the realization of a wide range of high-end mobile applications. Agents/mobile-agents are capable of tackling various challenges faced by mobile multimedia delivery infrastructure. We solicit scholarly book chapters on the hybridization of these two paradigms, namely, ubiquitous/mobile multimedia and mobile agents, where mobile agents act as the platform to realize mobile multimedia delivery infrastructure. We are soliciting technical papers, in the form of book chapters, dealing with mobile agents-based ubiquitous content delivery, agent-based media adaptation, agent-based QoS management, and agent-based user-mobility management, as well as establishing ubiquitous media delivery infrastructure based on agent-mediated platforms/middleware. Intended Audience The book will be published by IGI Global in 2011. This book will serve as a reference book of scholarly value for advanced level students, researchers, and professionals. Topic Areas The technical contents should be within (but not limited to) the following domains: -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based Multimedia Content Discovery -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based Multimedia Content Adaptation -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based Content Delivery to Mobile-Users -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based QoS Management for Mobile Multimedia -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based Mobile/Ubiquitous Multimedia Systems Infrastructure -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based Ubiquitous/Mobile Multimedia Models -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based Middleware for Ubiquitous Multimedia -- Agent/Mobile-Agent and System Interactions/Communications to support Mobile Multimedia -- Content Creator/User Authentication by Agents in Ubiquitous Multimedia Systems -- Agents/Mobile-Agents, Agent Migration, and Wireless Network to realize Ubiquitous Multimedia -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based Resource Management in Mobile Multimedia Systems -- Agent/Mobile-Agent based User-Mobility Management in Mobile Multimedia Systems Technical Contents The chapters may contain any, or a combination, of the following research ontributions in the above mentioned areas: -- Theoretical Models and Formal Verifications/Proofs -- Algorithms, Middleware, Protocol, and Performance by Simulation -- Real-World Design, Implementation, and Performance Evaluation -- Software Design, Software Models, Implementations and Verifications, Performance Submission Guidelines Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before April 30, 2010, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter, as PDF or DOC file attachment, to the Editor (dr.susmitbagchi@yahoo.in). The proposal should contain the following information: 1.1 Name of chapter, 1.2 Name of author(s), e-mail address and affiliation, 1.3 Technical area covered in the chapter, 1.4 Main contributions which will be made by author(s), 1.5 Specify the technical novelty in the contribution 1.6 Detailed table of contents of the chapter Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by May 15, 2010 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by July 15, 2010. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. Publisher This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group Inc.), publisher of the “Information Science Reference” (formerly Idea Group Reference), “Medical Information Science Reference,” “Business Science Reference,” and “Engineering Science Reference” imprints.
