6th International Workshop on Databases in
Networked Information Systems (DNIS 2010)

http://www.u-aizu.ac.jp/labs/sw-db/DNIS2010.html

"Other Events in the vicinity" - DASFAA (1 - 4 April)

Introduction

The workshop will focus on data semantics and infrastructure for information management and interchange. The DNIS 2010 workshop will attract the research attention on - user interfaces and web scale applications. These two themes will be guide research on infrastructure facilities. It is being co-sponsored by University of Aizu, Department of Computer Software. Database Systems play a central role in the evolving information systems. It aims at promoting research related to -

* Integration of cloud computing interfaces and database query languages

* Knowledge - Annotation and Visualization

* Information interchange and management systems,

* Using core technologies for web based applications,

* Managing client/middleware/server computing,

* Databases in information architectures ( middleware, mobile, the web )

* Healthcare and BioMedical Informatics

* Web intelligence,

* Data Management for e-Governance and Web Scale Applications

* Data security in web based components, and application services,

Current research activity on -

Algorithms for collecting, analyzing, and securing data for decision support; Integrating advanced technologies for automating C2B and B2B e-commerce, dynamic workflow, and supply chain management; Approaches and algorithms for automatic data warehouse administration; Architectures for simplifying the access to and querying of heterogeneous information sources ; -- All aspects of data management for Information Systems are sought for participation.

Publication Details

Attendance at DNIS is limited to 30-40 active researchers. The format of the workshop will encourage everyone to participate actively in discussions. Keynote discussions will be used to focus the debate onto current research issues. Pre-printed papers will be available to all participants and discussion is expected to lead to improvement of the papers and a record of their inter-relationships. The workshop plans to publish its proceedings in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series by Springer. Selected manuscripts from the earlier DNIS workshops and DNIS 2005 and 2007 workshop proceedings have been recommended for publication in " International Journal of Computational Science and Engineering (IJCSE, InderScience) " (DNIS 2010 under consideration).

Contributions should cover concepts for implementation, management of meta-data, systems architecture and experience gained in Information Systems and DBMSs. Specific areas of interest include:
o Data Management for Cloud Computing,
Information Systems and Transactions
+ UML for e-Service
+ Secured Access Control
+ Searching & Managing Dynamic Contents
+ Workflow Modelling

o Dynamic Personalization of Services
+ Web Usage Mining
+ Agent-Based e-Services
+ e-Government Services
+ Database Integration
+ e-services Integration
+ Filtering and Summarization
o Service Oriented Architectures (SOAs)
+ Web Service
+ Semantic Web Service
+ Cloud Computing
+ Grid Computing and SOA
+ WWW and database systems
+ Long-lived Transactions

o User Level Query Interfaces for Web Access
+ work-flow
+ data security
+ Healthcare systems
