The First WWW 2011 Warm Up Workshop
January 7, 2010, Kolkata, India

Starting with the first one held at CERN in 1994 (, the International World Wide Web (WWW) Conferences constitute a series of conferences, usually taking place in May of every year. It is a global event bringing together key researchers, innovators, decision-makers, technologists, businesses, and standards bodies that are helping define the shape of the Web. Since its inception in 1994, the WWW conference series has become the de-facto international venue for discussions on the evolution of the Web over the coming years.

The location varies year to year, covering Asia, Europe, or North America. The conference provides a healthy mixture of contributions from academia and industry. Apart from the core conference consisting of technical research tracks, other attractions of the event include tutorials, workshops, and a separate Developers' Day. The event usually spreads over 5 days. The International World Wide Web Conference Committee (IW3C2), is responsible for the series, with a different conference organizer every year.
