Call For Papers

Since the inaugural event in 1995, the EANN conference has provided a great discussion forum on Engineering Applications of Neural Networks. In the past decade the conference has evolved as an internationally recognised forum for many areas in the field of Artificial Intelligence techniques and related technologies.
The conference endeavours to promote innovative research and advanced applications of Neural Networks and other Artificial Intelligence themes that lead to practical solutions that advance work spaces, improve organizational performance and contribute to the enhancement of life.
The 19th series of the conference is going to be held at UWE – Bristol, 3-5 September 2018.
Authors are invited to submit electronically original, English-language research contributions or experience reports not concurrently submitted elsewhere. Papers should be no longer than 12 pages formatted according to the LNCS Springer style. The program committee may reject papers that exceed this length on the grounds of length alone. In the spirit of the previous EANN conferences, the paper should concentrate on the application rather than just the algorithm or the theory. Camera-ready submissions should be corrected by following the remarks of the referees and submitted in zip format including (1) the camera-ready version of the authors’ work in pdf format, (2) the camera-ready version of the authors’ work in editable sources format as well as (3) the Consent to Publish signed in ink and scanned to image file. The results described must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere. Submissions must conform to Springer’s LNCS format and should be, including all text, figures, references and appendices: 12 pages for papers accepted as full and 8 pages for papers accepted as short.
Submitted papers will be refereed by at least three reviewers for quality, correctness, originality, and relevance. Notification and reviews will be communicated via email. Accepted papers will be presented at the conference and included in the proceedings, which will be published by SPRINGER CCIS “Communications in Computer and Information Science” and they will be made available to registered authors at the conference.
A paper may not be included in the proceedings if the requirements are not met, or if the registration fee is not received by the deadline of the submission of the camera-ready format.

The Springer Journal on Neural Computing and Applications (NCA) will edit a Special Issue with selected papers from the EANN 2018 conference.

CALL FOR WORKSHOPS AND TUTORIALS
Proposals for Workshops that examine emerging, innovative, or otherwise provocative issues within the conference area are encouraged as well. Workshop proposals should include a 1-2 page summary of the topic and the names and affiliations of 3-4 panellists who have made a commitment to participate. A mix of industry and academic panel members is recommended. All papers submitted to a workshop should abide by the same rules for the papers submitted to the main conference.
Proposals for 90-minute tutorials are also invited on topics within the conference area. Tutorial proposals must be at most 5 pages, they must identify the intended audience, and they must give enough material to provide a sense of what will be covered.
A fully electronic review process is being planned. Technical papers, panel and tutorial proposals should be submitted electronically. In particular, before submitting a paper (in pdf or MS Word), an author should submit an abstract (in order to get a paper id and a password), whereas panel and tutorial proposals should be sent by email to the workshops chair Mehmet.Aydin@uwe.ac.uk .

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION TO THE STUDENT FORUM
The organizing committee of the 19th International Conference on Engineering Applications of Neural Networks (EANN 2018) are pleased to announce the organization of a Student Forum, as part of the conference.
This aims to engage university students at various levels of study with the conference. There are two streams available
A. Postgraduate & Early Research Students
B. Undergraduate Students
Submissions are invited in the form of short papers (six pages) in the Springer LCNS template.
Students with accepted submissions will be required to present their work as either a poster or a working demo.
All presentations will be reviewed by a panel comprising professionals and academics and prizes will be awarded for both categories.
To express your interest in the student forum, you should send a 300 word abstract along with the name of the authors, affiliation, year of study and type of presentation planned to the forum chairs,
Dr Rong Yang Rong.Yang@uwe.ac.uk and
Dr Emmanuel Ogunshile Emmanuel.Ogunshile@uwe.ac.uk
