Guest Editors
Elza Maria Morais Fonseca is Professor of the Applied Mechanics Department at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal. She teaches or has taught undergraduate and master courses, and supervising master‟s thesis and doctoral dissertations. She has the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Porto, Portugal. Researcher of LAETA, INEGI,Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautics. Her main research interests include biomechanics, solid mechanics, and computational mechanics. She is author or coauthor of over than 150 articles published in journals and conferences. She has served on scientific program committees of several conferences and member of editorial board in different journals.

Maria Goreti Fernandes has the Master degree in Biomedical Technology from Polytechnic
Institute of Bragança, Portugal. Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Porto, Portugalat the end of 2017. Researcher in different projects of INEGI, Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautics. Her research interests include experimental mechanics, biomechanics, computational methods and rehabilitation. She is author or co-author of over than 50 articles published in journals and conferences. She presented contributions to the development of numerical and experimental methodologies to analysis the bone damage during drilling processes.

Call for Papers: (Proposal)
Biomechanics is a multidisciplinary field that uses different disciplines and fields of application,biological, sports, health, ergonomics, engineering and applied science.
The goal of this special issue „‟Biomechanics‟‟ will be to publish the latest research advancement in this field to improve healthcare on its effectiveness, performance improvement, injury prevention and rehabilitation, to enhance patient safety and quality. One important feature for this special issue is the interdisciplinary between different works and the great interest that resulting in collaboration between different researchers: biomedical, medical doctors, mechanical and electrical engineering, biologist, physicians, among others. In across all regions of the world, researchers work to gain knowledge and to find new ways to develop advanced tools to aid and support the development in the medicine field.
This special issue seeks to publish papers aimed at addressing significant issues and
contributing towards addition of new concepts, trends and knowledge to science. We are happy to invite you to submit a paper for the Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Biomechanics (JMEB) for a special issue „‟Biomechanics‟‟.Research and original articles in the mentioned fields will be encouraged and published.

Potential topics of interest for this issue may cover a wide range of topics in
biomechanics, including, but not limited to:

5) Orthopedic Biomechanics

Evaluation by EiC:
Since this Special Issue will be organized by journal AEs therefore, the EiC will be
responsible for evaluating the papers based on scope, feasibility, and technical merit. The decision on the Acceptance or Revision of Paper will be taken by EiC.

 Papers will be submitted through regular submission process: author can register by

submission : 1) Cover (mention Special Issue Title) 2) Manuscript
 The Managing AE will be responsible for organizing the review process. The review
process will be same as for the regular submission.
