The objective of the International Conference on e-Health Networking, Application and Services (Healthcom2009) is to bring together interested parties around the world in the health care field from academia, research, government and industry to exchange ideas, report learning, and discuss innovation and emerging solutions addressing challenges in e-Health. Participants include clinicians, hospital administrators, IT professionals, researchers, educators, healthcare solutions vendors, and consultants. Healthcom2009 is also an important forum for e-Health topics in world bodies such as ITU, WHO and APEC, particularly Ubiquitous Healthcare Initiative for Ageing Societies. Healthcom conferences have been successfully held yearly since Healthcom's inaugural conference in Sydney, Australia in 1999. Subsequent Healthcom conferences have been held in Sydney in 2000, L'Aquila, Italy in 2001, Nancy, France in 2002, Santa Monica, USA in 2003, Odawara, Japan in 2004, Busan, Korea in 2005, New Delhi, India in 2006, Taipei, Taiwan in 2007, and Singapore in 2008. Healthcom2009 will once again be held in Sydney, Australia, its original birthplace. The Healthcom2009 program will include keynote addresses by experts from different parts of the world. Also there will be exciting panels and workshops promoting debates on emerging issues and ongoing collaborative international projects in e-Health.
Submission of Papers Healthcom2009 promotes multidisciplinary collaborative research and welcomes papers on different aspects of e-Health including technical, applied, clinical, and user experience perspectives. Prospective authors are invited to submit original research papers as well as system development experiences. Papers must be written in English and electronically received on Healhcom2009 website (http://www.healthcom2009.org) by June 12th, 2009. The full paper must be in IEEE format, between 4 and 8 pages including all diagrams and references, and in PDF format. All submissions must have names, affiliations and full contact details (including email addresses) of all authors. All submitted papers will be reviewed by International experts in the Program Committee. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings registered with IEEE Xplore. Special Notice: As in the previous years, best papers from Healthcom2009 will be published in major international refereed journals such as ISI-listed Telemedicine and e-Health Journal, Journal of Healthcare Engineering, and Journal of e-Health Technology and Application. Conference Topics Topics of particular interests include the following tracks, but are not limited to: * e-Health for ageing: Health and Clinical Issues in Ageing, Ageing and Cognition, Technologies for assessing elderly patients, Chronic Diseases, Emerging technologies and their acceptance by the aged population. * e-Health and m-Health: Next Generation Electronic Health Records, Security and Privacy, e-Health and m-Health for developing countries. * e-Health for Public Health: e-Health for Disaster Situation Management, Ontologies for knowledge integration in Public Health Infrastructure, e-Health for biosecurity. * New Models for Healthcare delivery: Assistive Care, Preventive Care, Wellness Assessment, Emerging Technologies including electronic games for Rehabilitation, Interactive Technologies for Promoting Good Health, e-Health Initiatives of World Bodies, Rural Healthcare management, Service Models. * Network/Communications Infrastructure and Architecture for Healthcare: Internet and Medicine, Grid Infrastructure for Collaborative Healthcare, IT Infrastructure and Platforms for Remote Care, Mobile and Wireless Networks, Sensors, Wireless Sensor Networks, Body Area Networks. * Applications: Remote Health Monitoring Systems, Personalized Health Monitors, Telemedicine Applications, e-Health marketing. * Education: e-Training, Multimedia in Education and Training, Health Visualization. Important Dates * 12 June, 2009: Deadline for Papers Submission * 21 August, 2009: Notification of Acceptance * 14 September, 2009: Camera-ready papers due and speaker registration * 16 September, 2009: Deadline for Early Registration * 16 December, 2009: Conference date At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the event within the early registration deadline for the paper to be included in the proceedings. Awards The International Technical Program Committee will select the best research paper for awards. |
