Intelligent transportation systems (ITS) are advanced systems utilizing information and communication technologies in transport systems. Integration of existing and new technologies to create new service to make transportation systems cleaner, safer, sustainable, and more efficient is one of the main objectives of ITS.
This special issue is intended to present and discuss new technological development to make transportation systems more intelligent. Technologies used to make transportation systems sustainable like transportation electrification and technologies used to make transportation systems safer like driver assisting systems are the main theme of the special issue. Potential topics include, but are not limited to: Driver assisting systems Unmanned intelligent transportation systems All electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles Energy management of electric vehicle systems Electric vehicle integration in smart buildings Parking guidance and information systems Artificial intelligence application to ITS Car navigation and traffic monitoring systems Drowsiness detection and collision avoidance systems Communication of intelligent transportation systems Automated routing, scheduling, and highway systems Authors can submit their manuscripts via the Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/mse/maits/.
