* Call for Papers *
3rd International Workshop on Context for Software Developers (CSD 2016) in conjunction with 38th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2016) Austin, TX, USA, May 17, 2016 http://csd-ws.github.io https://twitter.com/csd_ws Workshop goal ---------------------- The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers interested in studying the information that software developers need to successfully complete their development tasks. Developers routinely face challenging development tasks that require a wealth of detailed support information, such as change history, the architecture, who is working on what, the APIs, and so on. As developers work on their task, they can be found searching, navigating, and enriching this information. Organizationally, developers coordinate their work, tasks, and hold discussions by having a shared understanding of information about the projects they work on. Indeed, all the information about software creates the context in which developers work. Today, the context that developers work with comes from many sources; as such, it is multi-faceted and increasingly large in scale. Having many sources of context causes a considerable amount of context switching during the developers work activity. Capturing, making sense of and presenting this multi-faceted context to developers is one important open problem in this area. Workshop topics ---------------------- Papers may address issues along the broad topics, including but not limited to the following: * Types of context for software developers * Modelling context for software developers * Methods for mining context * Tools leveraging context for software developers * Big Data and software developers' context * Using context to support implicit or explicit coordination * Context in code search * Context in requirements engineering * Context in testing and maintenance * Context in collaborative activities such as bug triaging * Context in development processes, e.g. agile processes * Software project managers perspectives on context Submissions ---------------------- We invite two kinds of submissions: 5-page long papers and 2-page short papers. A selection of papers will be presented at the workshop. Each submission will be reviewed by at least two members of the Program Committee. Accepted papers will become part of the workshop proceedings and published in the ICSE companion proceedings. Important Dates ---------------------- Submission: January 22, 2016 Notification of acceptance: February 19, 2016 Final camera-ready copy: February 26, 2016 Workshop: May 17, 2016 Organizing Committee ---------------------- Kelly Blincoe, Auckland University of Technology Lee Martie, University of California, Irvine Giuseppe Valetto, Fondazione Bruno Kessler Program Committee ---------------------- Tore Dybå, University of Oslo and SINTEF John Grundy, Swinburne University of Technology Bruno Antunes, University of Coimbra Paulo Gomes, University of Coimbra Annie Ying, McGill University Thomas Fritz, University of Zurich André van der Hoek, University of California, Irvine http://csd-ws.github.io https://twitter.com/csd_ws |
