Call For Papers

PRELIMINARY Call for Papers

6th Swedish National Computer Networking Workshop (SNCNW 2009)

Uppsala, May 4-5, 2009 (tentatively)

Sponsored by IEEE VT/COM Sweden

Co-located with 9th Scandinavian Workshop on Wireless Adhoc Networks
(Adhoc'09)

Purpose and scope

SNCNW is a creative and informal forum for researchers and
practitioners in computer communication and networking. The workshop
strives to be inclusive by giving all research and development groups
in Sweden an opportunity to present their work. The workshop also
provides an excellent occasion to discuss ideas among colleagues and
establish contacts between computer network researchers, practitioners
and industry, and thus helps to strengthen the research field in
Sweden.

The scope for SNCNW is all technical aspects of Computer Networking,
excluding physical transmission. Academic papers should emphasize
research advances even in the form of work in progress, while
industrial papers may focus on implementations of known schemes and
deployment observations.

The submitted papers will be subjected to a formal reviewing
process. The aim of the reviewing and selection process is to provide
constructive feedback to the authors and to ensure that the program
reflects as much as possible of the ongoing national research and
development efforts.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

* New networking paradigms
* Security and privacy
* Service oriented architectures and business models
* User centric network design
* Overlay networks, peer-to-peer and content distribution
* DNS and other infrastructure services
* Application, transport and routing protocol design and evaluation
* IPv6
* Crosslayer design
* Ad hoc and sensor networks
* Mobile and wireless networks
* Networking for triple play
* Multimedia networking and session control for managed and unmanaged networks
* Resource allocation and management
* Traffic and performance measurement
* Traffic analysis and control
* Scheduling and shaping
* Network management
* Networking for small and embedded systems

Submission

Papers can either be presented orally or displayed as posters. The
author should indicate his/her preference when submitting. The program
chairs will then decide about the final category based on the authors'
preference and the technical content of the paper.

All submissions should be in the form of short papers of maximum 3000
words, about 3-4 pages and in double column format. The preferred
language at the workshop is English, so the submission should be
written in the English language.

No copyright will be claimed by the workshop.

Submission details will be provided at a later time.

Important dates
Submission deadline: 9 March 2009
Acceptance notification: ~6 April 2009
Final papers: ~20 April 2009
Workshop: ~4-5 May 2009
