Call For Papers

The International Conference on Information Processing in SensorNetworks (IPSN) is a leading annual forum on researchin networked sensing and control, broadly defined. IPSN bringstogether researchers from academia, industry, and government topresent and discuss recent advances in both theoretical andexperimental research. Its scope includes signal and image processing, information and coding theory, databases and information management, distributed algorithms, networks and protocols, wirelesscommunications, collaborative objects and the Internet of Things, machine learning, mobile and social sensing, and embedded systemsdesign. Of special interest are contributions at the confluence of amultiple of these areas.

New: In addition to IPSN's traditional focus areas, IPSN 2016 isinaugurating a new track on the Internet of Things (IoT). The entireprogram committee is eligible to review any submitted paper, but inorder to aid in reviewer selection, authors are encouraged to indicatein the submission site whether their submissions are related to theIoT track.

Like previous years, IPSN 2016 will continue its focus on algorithms, theory, and systems for information processing using networks ofembedded, human-in-the-loop, or social sensors, as well as newhardware and software architectures, modeling, evaluation, deploymentexperiences, design methods, implementations, and tools for networkedembedded sensor systems. Topics covered include, but are not limitedto:

Sensor tasking, control, decision making and actuation
Theoretical foundation and fundamental bounds
Network and system architectures and protocols
Location, time, and other network services
Programming models and languages and embedded software
Modelling, simulation, measurement, and analysis tools
Operating systems and runtime environments
User interfaces for sensing applications and systems
Innovative platforms and architectures, including cloud, mobile, participatory and social sensing
Compelling applications ranging from wellbeing and health monitoring to environmental and urban (e.g. traffic / building) sensing, highlighting experiences, challenges, and comparisons of platforms and tools

IoT Track: This new track focuses on the unique aspects of creating novelapplications and services that integrate embedded, mobile, and cloudresources in the context of physical spaces, machines, and otherinterconnected Things. Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

Programming models for ensembles of interconnected Things
Discovery, Coordination and Usability of Things and Services in IoT
Trust, Security, Privacy, and Authentication in IoT
Network, System, Device, and Service Architectures for IoT
Dependability, adaptation, intermitency, and assembly in IoT
Technical Assessment of emerging IoT standards

Submission Guidelines

Full papers must be at most 12 single-spaced 8.5" x 11" (letter) pages, including figures, tables, and references, two-column format, using 10-point type on 12-point (single-spaced) leading, with a maximum text block of 7" wide x 9" deep. Left and right margins must be )= 0.75". Top and bottom margins must be )= 1". Each column should be 3.33" with a 0.33" gutter. Each column must contain no more than 55 lines of text.

New this year, we also solicit short papers (maximum six pages) containing interesting technical nuggets. Full papers may be accepted with the condition of converting them into short papers.

Submission templates can be found at http://ipsn.acm.org/2016/.
