Call For Papers

APSEC 2015 is the 22nd Edition of the Conference. APSEC is coming to India for the second time in 22 years - after 9 years [APSEC 2006 happened in Bangalore, India]. The past two APSEC happened in Korea (APSEC 2014) and Thailand (APSEC 2013) respectively.

Software has been increasingly utilised to improve the quality of lives and, subsequently, to change the world in a myriad of unforeseeable ways. Software systems have evolved to meet the changing needs of society, while society has in turn evolved in response to the use of innovative and omnipresent software systems. The emergence of contemporary software for the evolving world has posed unprecedented challenges to software engineering professionals and their community. The 22nd Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2015) provides an excellent opportunity for software engineering researchers and practitioners around the world to exchange ideas on how to address these challenges. The theme of this year's conference is "Software Process and Product Engineering".

3. 1st International Workshop on Case Method for Computing Education (CMCE)

CALL FOR PAPERS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3rd International Workshop on Quantitative Approaches to Software Quality (QuASoC 2015)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In conjunction with the 22st Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2015)

Scope of the workshop:
----------------------
Software development organizations are always forced to develop software in the required quality. Hence, quality specification and quality assurance are crucial. Although there are lots of approaches to deal with quantitative quality management, it is still challenging to choose a suitable set of techniques that best fit to the specific project and organizations constraints. Moreover, standards like CMMI require to set up and apply quantitative methods to monitor and improve development processes. Even though approaches, methods, and techniques are known for quite some time now little effort has been spent on the exchange on the real world problems with quantitative approaches. The workshop aims at gathering together researchers and practitioners to discuss new approaches and experiences in the application of state of the art approaches to measure, assess and evaluate the quality of software systems and software development processes.

Submission guidelines:
----------------------
We encourage you to submit a contribution, especially experience reports. All submissions will be peer reviewed and judged on the basis of their clarity, relevance, and interest to the workshop participants. Authors of accepted papers have to register for the workshop.
Paper submissions must be in English and conform to the IEEE Dual Column format. The paper length of at most 8 pages will be strictly enforced.
Papers are to be submitted electronically to the QuASoQ EasyChair paper submission system
(https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=quasoq2015).

Important Dates:
----------------
Paper submission: October 18, 2015
Acceptance notification: October 30, 2015
Camera-ready version: November 13, 2015
Workshop: December 1, 2015

---------------------------------------------------
Alternate Workforces for Software Engineering (WAWSE)
---------------------------------------------------
In conjunction with the 22st Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2015)

Scope of the workshop:
----------------------
This workshop is cross-disciplinary, concerning the broad spectrum of crowdsourcing and alternative workforces with applications to software development and engineering. Topics of interest include open source, collaborative work, empirical studies, crowdsourcing, policy, and design as they relate to software engineering. The goal of the workshop is to promote the scientific exchange of advances in among researchers, engineers, and practitioners across a spectrum of disciplines who may otherwise not have the opportunity to interact.

Submission:
---------
Submissions must be in the form of a self-contained extended abstracts of not more than 5 pages including all figures and tables, excluding references. You are encouraged to use the IEEE dual column format. Authors may include an appendix (without page limit); such an appendix will be read at the discretion of the reviewers and will not appear in the proceedings in case of acceptance.

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts in PDF via the EasyChair system at the link:
link TBD (Please refer to the workshop website for updated links.)

---------------------------------------------------
1st International Workshop on Case Method for Computing Education (CMCE)
---------------------------------------------------
In conjunction with the 22st Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2015)

Scope of the workshop:
----------------------
Case method has been successfully applied in teaching other professions including law, medicine and business. Though there is great pedagogical value in case method, computing has not fully leveraged this method for teaching. One of the main reasons for this is the lack of cases and a repository where faculty can search and find useful cases. Another is the fact that there is very little written and sharing among faculty on how to use cases when teaching technology oriented topics such as software engineering, programming, solution architecture, etc.

Hence the main goals of the workshop are to gather academics and practitioners who are keen to research and apply the case method pedagogy in computing education, and subsequently contribute to the development of a case repository and set of practical tips on how case method can be incorporated into the different computing courses.

Submission:
---------
We encourage you to submit a contribution. All submissions will be peer reviewed and judged on the basis of their clarity, relevance, and alignment with the workshop goals.

Papers must be in English.
Submissions can be 2-4 pages, and must not exceed 8 pages in length and conform to IEEE dual column format.
Accepted workshop papers will be published at CEUR-WS, which is indexed by dblp, the world's most comprehensive open bibliographic data service in computer science.
Papers are to be submitted electronically in pdf format to venky@smu.edu.sg
