SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION
9th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SPORTS: ECONOMIC, MANAGEMENT, MARKETING & SOCIAL ASPECTS 8-11 MAY 2009, ATHENS, GREECE The Panhellenic Association of Sports Economists & Managers (PASEM) in collaboration with the Sports Research Unit of the Athens Institute of Education and Research and the Quarterly Greek Review of Oikonomia € Athlitismos, will organize its 9th International Conference, 8-11 May 2009, Athens, Greece. The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars and students of ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT, MARKETING, TOURISM, RECREATION, LEISURE, and other SERVICE INDUSTRIES to identify areas of common research issues as well as methodological and analytical differences. Papers (in English) from all areas of sport sciences, social sciences, economics and business will be considered. Submissions from other disciplines that emphasize the development and the applicability of economics, management and marketing to service industries are also welcome. Areas of interest include (but are not confined to): the Impacts of Olympic Games, Professional Sports, Sport-Scheduling, Sports Tourism, Sports Communication, Sports & Media, Sports & Society, Sports Violence, Sports & Education, Sports & Ethics, Sport Technology, Sports and Computer Applications, Sports & Information Technology, Sport Services and Sports History. Selected papers will be published in a Special Volume of the Conference Proceedings. The registration fee is €250 (euro), covering access to all sessions, 2 lunches, coffee breaks and conference material. Special arrangements will be made with local hotels for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of special events will be organized: A Greek night of entertainment, a special one-day cruise in the Greek islands and a half-day archaeological Attica (Athens) tour. The Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) was established in 1995 as an independent academic organization with the mission to become a forum where academics and researchers from all over the world could meet in Athens and exchange ideas on their research and discuss the future developments of their discipline. Since 1995, ATINER has organized more than 100 international conferences and has published over 80 books have been published. Academically, the Institute is organized into four research divisions and nineteen research units. Each research unit organizes at least an annual conference and undertakes various small and large research projects. |
