2009 Workshop on Clustering and Outlier Detection in High-Dimensional Data (CODHDD'09) in conjunction with the 13th Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD'09), Bangkok, Thailand Workshop web page: http://www.dbs.ifi.lmu.de/CODHDD09 Clustering and outlier detection in high-dimensional data are active areas of research in the data mining community. Many new problems and challenges have been identified and solutions have been proposed recently. In this workshop, we want to stimulate discussions on novel challenges and solutions including new basic clustering models, theoretical foundations and considerations on high-dimensional data spaces, as well as novel applications. In particular, the workshop invites submissions concerning theoretical and practical aspects of clustering and outlier detection in high-dimensional data such as - Theoretical work advancing the understanding of the phenomena that challenge the task of finding clusters and outliers and outliers in high-dimensional data. - Improved clustering models for projected and subspace clustering, pattern-based clustering, co-/bi-clustering, correlation clustering, as well as novel clustering models that might be more appropriate in some classes of applications. - Improved and novel outlier detection methods. - Applications and practical challenges that can inspire researchers to improve current clustering solutions or to develop new solutions for these problems. - Lessons learned from non-trivial practical applications that can help practitioners to deploy clustering and outlier detection methods proposed in the data mining community in their application domain. In the spirit of a workshop submission of novel ideas and positions which are not yet ready for archival publication, but are mature enough to sparkle discussion among the attendees are also strongly encouraged. Further information can be found at: http://www.dbs.ifi.lmu.de/CODHDD09 Submission: Papers must be submitted via email to both of the organizers Peer Kr?ger (kroegerp@dbs.ifi.lmu.de) J?rg Sander (joerg@cs.ualberta.ca) until 22 December 2008, 12 pm PST.
