CALL FOR PAPERS Metaheuristics in Clustering and Classification. Special Session International Conference on Metaheuristics and Nature Inspired Computing October 27-31, 2014 Marrakech, Morocco www.evannai.uc3m.es/Research_2/Special_Sessions_2/META_14 =================================================================== IMPORTANT DATES: Regular Papers: - Abstract submission: 9th, May 2014 - Invited session, workshops, tutorials: 26th, April 2014 - Conference: 27th-31th, October 2014 SCOPE: Classification and clustering are examples of the more general problem of pattern recognition, which is the assignment of some sort of output value to a given input value. Moreover, classification and clustering are related with many more specific problems such as regression, sequence labeling, routing, forecasting, scheduling, pattern recognition, parsing; etc. From a practical perspective, clustering and classification play an outstanding role in data mining applications such as scientific data exploration, information retrieval and text mining, spatial database applications, Web analysis, marketing, medical diagnostics, computational biology, and many others. The aim of this special session is to present and discuss on the most recent advances in this field, both from a theoretical and an practical point of view, and to give researchers an oportunity to discuss about new metaheuristic methods, the capabilities of metaheuristics to solve classification and clustering problems, the analysis of the different domains of application, and the adaptation of some methods to new aspects of classification and clustering. TOPICS: - Classification in real-world problems - Spatio-temporal clustering - Dynamic classification - Multiple classification - Comparison of classification methods - Multi-objective classification - Classification of imbalanced data - Classification of noised data - Big data classification - Binary classification - Feature extraction for classification - Probabilistic classification - Classification rule discovering SUBMISSIONS: Meta submissions are only 2 pages abstracts in English.
