The International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning (IDEAL) is an annual international conference dedicated to emerging and challenging topics in intelligent data analysis, data mining and their associated learning systems and paradigms. Its core themes include: the Big Data challenges, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Information Retrieval and Management, Bio- and Neuro-Informatics, Bio-Inspired Models (including Neural Networks, Evolutionary Computation and Swarm Intelligence), Agents and Hybrid Intelligent Systems, and Real-world Applications of Intelligent Techniques. Other related and emerging themes and topics are also welcome. After recent successful events, IDEAL 2013 (Hefei, China), IDEAL 2012 (Natal, Brazil), IDEAL 2011 (Norwich, England), IDEAL 2010 (Paisley, Scotland), IDEAL 2009 (Burgos, Spain), IDEAL 2008 (Daejeon, South Korea) and IDEAL 2007 (Birmingham, England), the 15th edition, IDEAL 2014, will be held in Salamanca, Spain on 10-12 September 2014.

The conference provides a unique opportunity and stimulating forum for presenting and discussing the latest theoretical advances and real-world applications in Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Data Analysis. Authors and researchers are warmly invited to submit their latest findings and research work to the conference. Special session organizers are warmly invited to submit their proposals to the organizers.

Instructions for Authors

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts (in pdf format) written in English by the deadline via the conference online submission system (available in due time). All submissions will be refereed by experts in the field based on originality, significance, quality and clarity. All contributions must be original, should not have been published elsewhere and must not be submitted elsewhere during the review period. Papers should not exceed 8 pages and must comply with the format of Springer LNCS/LNAI Proceedings. (see https://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0)

All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review process. Accepted papers (main conference and special sessions) will be included in the Proceedings of IDEAL 2014, to be published by Springer in its prestigious LNCS series, which is indexed in EI. In addition, selected papers will be invited for special issues in leading international journals in the field, including the International Journals of Neural Systems (IJNS).

Salamanca, a city in western Spain, is in the community of Castile and León. Renowned for its historic, beautiful buildings and urban environment, the Old City was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. It is the most important University City in Spain and is well known for its contributions to the teaching of the Spanish language. The University of Salamanca, founded in 1134, is the oldest university in Spain and one of the oldest in the world.

Salamanca is the University City by excellence, known in the whole world for this and for its artistic richness: cathedrals, palaces, churches of artistic styles such as Romanesque, gothic, plateresque and barroque.
