CALL FOR PAPERS
SIMULATION MODELLING PRACTICE AND THEORY SPECIAL ISSUE ON “Resource Management in Mobile Clouds” SUBMISSION DEADLINE: January 31, 2014 Theme: —— Recently, the enormous growth of cloud computing, together with the advance in mobile technology have led to the new era of Mobile Cloud Computing. Efficient and reliable management of distributed resources in Mobile Clouds became more important due to the increase of users and applications, as more and more users collaborate computationally over the Internet via powerful mobile devices. The scope of this special issue is to present state-of-the-art research covering a variety of concepts on efficient management of mobile cloud resources and to also provide future trends and directions in the mobile cloud computing area. It targets subjects on modelling, simulation and performance analysis of efficient resource management techniques for mobile clouds. Papers for the Special Issue must provide a substantial novel contribution, and authors must carefully situate their work with regard to the relevant scientific literature. They must clearly address research issues of Resource Management in Mobile Clouds and show the role of modelling and simulation in studying mobile cloud systems performance. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: • Mobile Cloud Computing for high-availability computing • Reliable management of resources in Mobile Clouds • Failure-aware resource management in Mobile Clouds • Resource and power management in Mobile Clouds • Innovative energy efficient storage mechanisms in Mobile Clouds • Performance evaluation of Mobile Clouds • Mobile Cloud Computing in healthcare • Real-time applications for disaster and emergency situations • Privacy, security and trust issues in Mobile Clouds • Novel service models and applications for Mobile Clouds • Mobile Cloud pricing models • Social computing in the Mobile Cloud SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Manuscripts should be submitted online through the Elsevier Editorial System (EES) at the following link: http://ees.elsevier.com/simpat. Authors must select Special Issue: Mobile Cloud when they reach the “Article Type” step in the on-line submission process. Submitted manuscripts should present original contributions and must not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers will be peer reviewed according to the high standards of the Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory Elsevier journal. Please feel free to contact the Guest Editor for any questions. Important Dates - Manuscript submission deadline January 31, 2014 - Manuscript reviews to authors March 31, 2014 - Manuscript revision due May 30, 2014 - Final notification of acceptance July 31, 2014 - Final manuscript submission deadline August 31, 2014 - Expected publication of the special issue December 2014 SPECIAL ISSUE EDITOR: Eleni KARATZA Department of Informatics Aristotle University of Thessaloniki 54124 Thessaloniki, Greece Email: karatza@csd.auth.gr |
