Call for Papers for Volume 4 Issue 1
Special Issue on Decentralized Energy and Environment Management

This special issue is intended to provide an outlet for innovative and timely contributions pertaining to the important role that decentralized (distributed) energy generations plays in simultaneously creating a healthy economy and a clean environment. This is possible by radical change in perspectives on resource management, carbon and energy efficiency. The advancements in science have provided many technologies but still mankind is unable to reap the maximum possible benefits. This issue intends to explore the reasons behind these and how to make the implementation feasible.

The issue also focuses on the role of decentralized environmental management as an approach to tackle local environmental problems in the rural as well as the urban context, keeping in mind the complexity and the uncertainty surrounding the transition from a centralized to a decentralized regime. It has to be seen whether the decentralization drive leads to sustainable growth or has adverse environmental impact. The outcome may depend, to a large extent, on whether decentralization goes forward with or without adequate capacity building, environmental regulations, and willingness to enforce them.

IIMK Society & Management Review¸ the flagship management journal from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode invites scholarly contributions for its forthcoming issue on Decentralized Energy and Environment Management. The papers of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
