Call For Papers

The 2014 IEEE Information Theory Workshop will take place 2-5 November in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia at the Hobart Function And Conference Centre.

Notice about hotel bookings Hotel information is now available, but we would like to inform all delegates that there will be a few sport events over the period of the workshop and it is recommended that hotel bookings be made soon to avoid disappointment.

Call for Papers
ITW2014 is a forum for technical exchange among scientists and engineers working on the fundamentals of information theory. The agenda is broad and will cover the diverse topics that information theory presently impacts. There will be both invited and contributed sessions. Papers for the contributed sessions are solicited in, but not limited to, the following areas:

Source coding
Distributed source and channel coding
Joint source and channel coding
Coding for wireless systems
Coding for sensor and ad-hoc networks
MIMO and space-time coding

Graph-based codes and iterative decoding
Cooperation in wireless systems
Sequences and coding
Compressed sensing
Coding applications: optical communications, smart grid, underwater, etc
Information theoretic security
Paper Submission
Interested authors are invited to submit previously unpublished contributions. Papers for the contributed sessions, not exceeding five pages, should be submitted according to directions at Information for Authors. The ITW proceedings will be published by the IEEE and will be available on IEEE Xplore.

Paper submission deadline: 4 May 2014 11 May 2014
Acceptance notification: 27 July 2014
Final paper submission and one author registration: 17 August 2014
Early bird conference registration: 15 September 2014
Plenary Speakers
ITW 2014 will include three plenary talks.

Emina Soljanin, "Codes for All Seasons"
Martin Wainwright, "Information-theoretic methods in statistical machine learning: Privacy-utility tradeoffs and distributed computation"
Girish Nair, "Nonstochastic Entropy and Information Concepts for Worst-Case Networked Control"

ISITA 2014, the International Symposium on Information Theory and Its Applications, will be held nearby in Melbourne, Australia on 26-29 October 2014

The 2014 Australian School of Information Theory will be held from 10 to 13 November 2014 in nearby Adelaide, Australia.
