The IET/ACostE Project Control Network is pleased to present the 2nd Terry Bishop Award recognising Innovation within the Project Control disciplines.New approaches that have yielded success, and have added value to projects will be recognised for their achievements.
This year’s categories are focused on the basic principles of achieving successful outcomes, and recognise the need to avoid over-complicating the execution process in favour of a “Back to Basics” approach. The award categories are as follows: Definition - “Best Approach to a Continuous Focus on Achievement of the Approved Scope of Work” Skills - “Best Approach to Assigning, Applying and Maintaining the Correct Levels of Required Skills.” Execution- “Best Approach to Ensuring Continuous Customer Satisfaction” Abstract submissions should demonstrate a Value Improving Practice. This could be a project tool, practice or an innovative technique. Further details can be provided on application. The scope of relevant project control fields include: Project reporting and efficiency of reporting Cost control Cost estimating Forecasting – accuracy Trend analysis Risk management Progress measurements Productive control Lessons learned Data analysis Planning Tracking How to submit abstracts Please download the Abstract Submission Form from the main website, and return your completed form to Tony Reid by deadline of the 28 June 2013. Key dates to note: 12 July 2013 - notification of accepted abstracts inviting full papers 30 August 2013 – submission of full papers for qualifying abstracts 09 October 2013 – announcement of Winner of the Terry Bishop Award 2013. The Award Ceremony A short list will be selected (one from each category) and short listed nominees will be invited to the ACostE Conference Dinner on Wednesday 09 October 2013 in Coventry UK where the winning paper from the short-listed categories will receive a cash prize of £500. The winning paper, will be published by the IET and the ACostE as well as hold a feature position on the joint IET/ACostE Project Control TPN website. |
