The First International Workshop on Cloud Data Mining (IWCDM, 2013)
provides an international platform to share and discuss recent research outcomes in cloud computing for data mining to discovery knowledge. Background: Cloud Computing, a phrase originally coined to represent Grid Computing. Recently Cloud Computing has gained substantial coverage due to the huge amount of On-line services and to the move from hardware and software innovation to network in the industries. Cloud Computing has significant potential in providing new design methods as well as new ways of teaching and practicing in the existing industry. It helps to keep the minimum expenditure to the government and stockholders by using a central platform. Due to the current global financial crises it became very popular in the IT industry. It has created the potential for a number of new forms of working manner, user behaviour and collaboration. At the same time it has also led to a gap in the advanced working environment. This workshop will discuss the experiences of the researchers in their journey into existing Cloud Computing technologies and services. This will discuss specific uses of Data Mining techniques in the Cloud Computing domain. Many recent studies have already shown that the effectiveness of Data Mining techniques in the Cloud domain. This workshop intends to bring together researchers, developers, and practitioners from academia, government, and industry to discuss new and emerging trends in cloud computing technologies, programming models, and software services and outline the data mining techniques that can efficiently exploit this modern computing infrastructure. This workshop also seeks to identify the greatest challenges in securing Cloud Computing infrastructure to stop any attackers using Data Mining Techniques. Therefore, we invite all researchers, developers, and users to participate in this event and share, contribute, and discuss the emerging challenges in developing data mining solutions and frameworks around Cloud Computing domain. Workshop Topics: Novel model and tool for Cloud Data Mining Securing Cloud domain using Data Mining techniques Minimize Cloud service cost using Data Mining techniques Minimize data storage space using Data Mining techniques Cloud provider performance evaluation using Data Mining techniques Secure Cloud server access key using Data Mining techniques Any application of Data Mining techniques in the Cloud domain Program Chairs: A B M Shawkat Ali, Central Queensland University, Australia Zeashan H.
